THE BUSY LIFE WE CREATE FOR OURSELVES

Our minds are always busy, even when we are doing nothing. We are busy thinking about our next step, considering how to sustain our lifestyle, how long our resources will last if we lose our source of income, and what else we can do to improve our lives beyond what we have now. We plan and consider ways to achieve these goals we set for our lives.
As such, we are always busy, whether at work on some Mondays to Fridays, or at home, where others don’t even have weekends to rest, while others still have other engagements on the weekend that keep their weekends busy. We are sometimes scared that we are not doing enough, so we look for more engagement, which prevents us from living and giving our time to things that matter.
We humans, are hardly satisfied with what we have, so no matter what we do, it mostly feels like it is not enough. Once a need is satisfied, another arises. When a goal is achieved, another is set. It is always a circle of wants, needs, and goals, waiting to be satisfied. So we keep ourselves busy and still feel like we are way behind. Keeping ourselves busy sometimes comes from the fact that we are all trying to grow and have a better life for ourselves. We try so hard to work enough now so we can rest in the future, when we have little strength left. Sometimes, other people occupy themselves with activities because of loneliness and the fear of not meeting up to our expectations or the expectations of the public, forgetting that we are trying and putting in as much effort as we should have.
When we sit back to reflect on our lives, we often notice the lengths and heights to which we have achieved, even when it seems there is more work to do. We should always learn to celebrate our little wins. As I read recently in Ecclesiastes 9:11-12, there is a season for everything, and effort does not always result in success. Life happens to everyone by chance. You may work very hard and still find someone who is not as hard-working as you more successful than you.
When we feel stuck in life, we should remember the lessons from Ecclesiastes 9:11-12, The race is not always to the swift, and time and chance happen to everyone, and by so we should trust in God, who will never disappoint you while you work hard, for everything has a season, and He will never forsake you.
