THE OPPOSITE EFFECTS OF STRIKE ACTIONS
In my own experience, I'd say that the health sector is pretty bad and appalling. I can remember last year when I started having issues with my health. I visited the first hospital, and they couldn't really tell what was wrong with me despite having gone through a series of tests. At the end of the day, I was being treated for some illness they suspected could be the case, since they couldn't really determine what exactly it was. This led me to visiting a different hospital, where it was the same scenario, and I was also treated for another different illness. The last and present hospital did better than the first two hospitals I visited. While the first two hospitals were private practices, the last was a public-private partnership, which was of a higher standard than the first two hospitals.
The hospitals are mostly not well-equipped, or it's a case where the doctors and nurses are not well paid or compensated for their inputs as health professionals. It is in this country you will find doctors who are paid as little as ₦100,000 as monthly salaries, which is not up to $100 when converted to dollars, and in comparison to their colleagues abroad who are paid as much as $4,000 monthly.
The painful thing about the situation of healthcare in my country is the fact that no one cares about anybody but themselves: the owners of these private practices and especially the government who would prefer leaving the country and going on health tourism instead of making the situation of the country’s healthcare sector better.
In the capital city where I live, the primary healthcare center has been on strike for a long period now. Imagine waking up every morning and going out to work, and you end up not being paid for a prolonged period of time, and the government isn't even concerned about the situation. The primary healthcare centers are the cheapest place where the poor can get better healthcare, and it has been closed for a prolonged period. The inhuman act of people towards those under them sometimes makes me ashamed of calling myself human. A lot of injustice happens every day with no reparations.
Going on strikes has not really helped much because of the kinds of management we have here. The only way going on strike can help the situation of our healthcare sector is when there is a ban on health tourism, forcing every citizen of the country to settle for the healthcare we have and enjoy at home, for those of us who cannot afford anything else. Only then will the government pay more attention to the situation of the healthcare sector. But when the strikes do not affect the government class directly, strike actions will make little or no impact on the quality of healthcare service.
To me, I believe going on strike by the health sector won't be worth it, since it won't make any change, and the strikers are most likely not going to get what they want out of the strike.

The condition of many hospitals here are bad, I was interacting with a doctor sometime ago and he was telling me how he went for an operation and there were no apparatus, he had to improvise.. it's so bad how the government give less attention to our lives.
Going for strike isn't nice but sometimes, that's the only option they have
it is a pity the situation we find our self, i only feel the strike dont usually bring out any positive result for the fact that the government dont care and striking will not make them care more.
Omo, it's so pathetic boss
