Meme challenge #257 - Entry #2

The little lion followed with his eyes the bird with the long curved beak that flew free in the sky, until he saw it land on the low branch of a tree. He ran up to the tree and began to climb it, not without difficulty. For every meter he climbed, he lost about a third of his height by putting his paw where his grip didn't hold his weight. Finally, with great effort, he reached the branch where the bird was dozing, approached it, but when he was within a meter it flew away almost effortlessly.

Il piccolo leoncino seguì con lo sguardo l'uccello dal lungo becco ricurvo che volava libero nel cielo, fino a che lo vide atterrare sul ramo basso di un albero. Corse fino all'albero ed iniziò ad arrampicarvisi non senza fatica. Per ogni metro che saliva, perde quota di circa un terzo per aver messo la zampa dove la presa non teneva il suo peso. Alla fine con grande sforzo raggiunse il ramo dove l'uccello sonnecchiava, gli si avvicinò, ma quando gli fu ad un metro questo volò via quasi senza sforzo.
