RE: I love multikulti

Very good, @zuerich ...

... as you have chosen to publish this on the day set as the deadline for other nations to respond to "Liberation Day" in America last week. You are the Hive Meme master, from my experience.

This post was no exception, as I extracted one which is certainly indicative of what many may feel about all the unsettling instability all over everywhere. Instability, from my view, based upon the clear intent of President Trump to drive disruption in every possible direction. As quickly as he can manage to do it.

"What do you think about multikulti?"

To the point of your post, however, I would say American history provides an excellent example of your word "multikulti," which I had never heard before reading your post. I say excellent in the historical sense, going back to the beginning. It was terribly corrupted in recent times and his pledge to correct it being one of the key reasons Trump was successful in overcoming every attempt to stop him.

"And how is immigration going in your country?"

It do not know how it can be any simpler than what the expectations were or are of the people who choose to uproot themselves from wherever they live and move to another country. If the incentive is to avoid working, since a social benefit paradise awaits them at the end of their journey? Disaster ...

Historically in America, at least? Coming here with the desire to live under true liberty guaranteed by the U. S. Constitution and make the most of whatever the combination of your character and skillsets can achieve under it? Blessing ...

Along the way, many diverse cultural centers arose, based on what one might expect. Many did not arrive all that fluent in English. They largely chose to settle in areas where cultural and linguistic norms familiar to them already were in place. From that starting point, they then steadily worked to assimilate themselves into the broader culture:

  • Voluntarily agreeing to submit whatever mindset they arrived with to what was required to become a U. S. citizen. And live under the laws of your new home, not insist on being governed according to laws from anywhere or anything else.

  • Peacefully COEXIST with others, based upon the sanctity of life and the foundational importance of the right to own private property.

  • No GUARANTEE of anything other than the equal "level playing field" opportunity to make the most of what I said above. Immigrants HAD to PROVE they could at least feed themselves, etc. in order to be allowed in. There was NO "social safety net" other than what might be offered voluntarily by your family and neighbors.

  • Learn to speak to your new countrymen in their language. Not insist on them talking to you in yours.
