The streets looked exactly the same. The city vibe has not changed a bit. It has been twenty years, since the last time he has visited his hometown. Coming back, felt like if he had a rewind button on time, and he is going back to his childhood days.

Something that he has promised his family, is to buy them their first dinner. He has kids of his age now. He thought, that they might appreciate the experience of sharing with them something that he used to enjoy when he was in their age. He went to that green and white restaurant, with a big shiny logo with their name (Simon's Burger). He ordered their favorite meal. Then he thought, what if they just did not like it. Or worse, what if they just think it is a normal restaurant and had the same experience as if he ordered from any other place. The place meant something for him and not his kids. He thought, while I am there, at least I treat myself. And when I do that, it would matter less what their reaction would be. As it would count for at least one person who had a nice time. He ordered a shake alongside the dinner and took the food back home and had a pleasant time with family.

As ruas pareciam exatamente as mesmas. A atmosfera da cidade não havia mudado nada. Fazia vinte anos desde a última vez que ele visitara sua cidade natal. Voltar era como se ele tivesse um botão de rebobinar o tempo e estivesse retornando aos seus dias de infância.

Algo que ele havia prometido à sua família era pagar o primeiro jantar deles. Ele tinha filhos da sua idade agora. Pensou que eles poderiam apreciar a experiência de compartilhar com eles algo que ele costumava gostar quando tinha a idade deles. Ele foi àquele restaurante verde e branco, com um grande logotipo brilhante com o nome deles (Simon's Burger). Pediu o prato favorito deles. Então pensou: e se eles simplesmente não gostassem? Ou pior, e se eles achassem que era apenas um restaurante normal e tivessem a mesma experiência de se ele tivesse pedido em qualquer outro lugar? O lugar significava algo para ele, mas não para os filhos. Pensou: já que estou lá, pelo menos vou me dar um presente. E quando faço isso, a reação deles importa menos. Já que pelo menos uma pessoa teve um momento agradável. Ele pediu um milkshake para acompanhar o jantar, levou a comida para casa e passou um momento agradável com a família.
