It's Gone

It was a very cold Saturday dawn. The people of the city are usually at home at that time. Most of them are tired from spending their time awake at night. The sky is dark. The wind blows heavily with a little bit spray of rain drops. There he was, standing on the edge of the side walk of the bridge. The place was quiet. There were no cars passing by, no people around. He was looking down from at the sea water beneath him. His feet feels little light as the wind is pulling him forward.

The scene has never changed ever since! It is the same picture that he keeps seeing every year. He holds that exact same feelings, thoughts and memories every time he comes to this place. He remembers his wife. It has been 8 years since she died. They say, people get used to their situations in life over time. That is probably true. But, sometimes it may requires more than a step forward. Maybe, things more than what words could express. He is like hearing a voice in his mind telling him, that she liked this place in the summer. He never came back here in the summer, it was always at winter he visits.

He pulled a paper from his pant pocket. He wrote the same paper to her. They promised, to never read each others' papers. Unless, something wrong happened to one of them. It was beautiful that they held to that promise. He opened the paper, and felt that he finally had the strength to read what's in it. He started reading "My Dear," before the wind took away the paper and he saw it landing on the sea.

Now, it's gone! Maybe, both papers were not meant to be read.
