Too Busy

The last time they went to the playground feels like last year. Or, even longer than that. The little 5 years old cannot really tell how long it has been since she went there.

On new year's day, the little girl woke up from her sleep, hearing her parents laughs from the kitchen area. She barely opened her eyes to see her dolls are all placed on the pink wall, which is the one thing that she does not get tired of checking every day. She jumped from the bed, all excited. No one can tell what that little girl had in mind. It is really impressive how kids manage to stay joyful each day. Their innocence and love for exploration is probably the drive for them to keep them running around in joy.

As soon as she stood outside of the bed, she started running towards the door to open it. Her small and soft footsteps on the brown wooden floor made a sound that her parents noticed that she was awake. She went down the stairs, and she was looking around for her parents. As little she was, she still cannot tell whether that it is breakfast time. Going from one room to another while calling her parents. They could hear her. But, they were enjoying hearing her voice shouting their names, and at times, they would softly smile as she mispronounce one of their names.

As soon as she reached the kitchen, where they were about to finish the breakfast. She went to her mom and said: I have a question.
Her mom replied: before any question, did you say good morning to your dad? - She said that as she was trying to teach her to say something. But, the little did not pay that much attention and repeated saying "I have one small question".
Her dad said with a smile on his face: Ask your mom your question, and you can greet us later.
The little girl said: Can we go to the playground today?
Her mom replied: But, we have promised your aunt that we will pay them a visit.
She said: Can we go after that?
Her mom said: We have also a reservation in a restaurant for all three of us this night. We can certainly schedule that some other time.
The little girl said in slowly as her voice is fading out with each word she says: But, you are always busy. You have been busy last week too.

The little girl is too young to understand that her parents could be busy at times. All she could think of is that, they have no time for her. She felt disappointment. It is hard for the young one who had no one to look for in life other than her small family. They literally are her closest ones, in the morning when she draws them at school time. Or, when she returns and talk to them about her day. Now she felt that they have let her down without a reasonable justification and she has that suppressed within. Could it be the hardest thing that she has gone through. Trying to explain what's within, and words are failing to express what her heart felt.
