Well, we won't be the first as there are some weekend engagement trends already on Hive! But this would be THE NIGERIAN VERSION!

Let Me start...
I struggled alot on my returned to Hive, my struggles were not rewards-related. They were more of a visibility problem. I wanted to be known, I wanted to be everywhere. It might sound weird, but i even wrote about it. I hated getting upvotes without comments on my posts. It changed after I got involved with more people, but recently I've been less engaging so I think the struggle continues.
If there is a problem I face now, It would be that people don't watch my videos. Yes, I might make good rewards off it however, I wish people watch them more. I've even stopped spending time on editing them :)
Lastly, It's difficult for me to write these days as I'm getting so emotionah with life. I might have to take a break, The only problem is the last time I took a break, it's became harder when I got back.

Question 1. What are your past or current Hive struggles?
The truth is nothing discourages me more than when I spend hours on an article, and upload it here only to get little or no engagement. It breaks my heart really. By engagement, I mean comments, comments, and upvotes. I know some people say it's not always about the upvotes, but hey, sometimes people need a little pat on the shoulder just so they know that they're doing something right.
The reason I keep coming back is that naturally, I'm a stubborn coconut-headed girl who doesn't stop until she gets results. So, I'll keep putting in the work.
Question 2 How were you able to find your way on Hive?
I found my way on Hive by asking the right people the right questions. My friend Onwugbenu Victor told me about Hive. I asked that young man questions until he was tired of me. I also did my own research you know. I was just scrolling through every post and community. Looking through different profiles to see what they were doing right or what I was missing. Engaging in contests also helped me find my way here.
Question 3 What community or person helped you during your low times here?
Thirdly, persons or community who helped. I'll just type a few so I don't get in trouble for tagging too many names. @onwugbenuvictor, @readthisplease, 👍@attentionneeded,@starstrings01, etc. These guys never turned down an opportunity to help me.
In terms of community, I really like the Leofinance community- if you have good quality posts and you're consistent, engagement will find you.
Question 4 Do you struggle with something currently and need help? What are they?
Lastly, I struggle with engaging as much as I should. I mean, I did write somewhere in my articles that with quality engagement comes visibility, and with visibility comes growth.
I do my best to engage as much as possible, but I know it's not enough. I'll be working on it though. So, if you see me dropping comments everywhere, I hope you understand.
Meanwhile, @samostically, you're doing an amazing job. It's like bringing us together for a weekly family meeting. Well done champ👍

Truly, engaging is a big task sometimes. But to make ends meet here and get popular or attract more Hivers to your blog, you may have to engage.
Those times where I post a work and I had $0:0 as rewards are quite discouraging but I didn't lose hope. Keeping one's head up is the way around here, no matter what.

The thing is, you can't read the wholen article. You wither follow the trend of other comment under the article of just read like two to three paragraphs, then make a comment. Shikena
A lot of times, I read the whole article, especially when it's interesting. I think I'd adopt this reading a few paragraphs method, so can engage with more people.
That's what I do to reach more users.
After all, my comment is my perspective of what one has written.

Giving up is never an option, no matter the low value votes I earn, at least I earn something and that means some persons loved my work, I always value the comments more so I don't get hurt when the votes don't come but I rejoice when I get a good vote.

Lack of engagement can be so discouraging but I don't beat myself too much on it because I noticed not too many people read and it's disheartening... It's not that the quality of the post is bad, no, the attitude of people to give comment is the one that is down.

But in actual fact, people don't comment because they didn't take the time to read the post or don't know what to say. But that's okay, because it's not by force and we shouldn't feel entitled to people's comments.

For me the Upvotes are just figures and I'm not happy when I get a low figure, it means I'm working hard enough so I top my game. The votes are necessary not because of the money but it gives me the motivation that I'm doing something right and same goes with the comments but I always prefer the comments more because it's a lot easier to tell if I'm truly growing personally or not.

Engagement is good, very good and very important but it's not easy. If one want to be an active engaged...then he or she may need to devote some days to post and some to engagement
Yes the leofinance community is a really great community amongst many but I find it really difficult to fit in.

My own problem Is the inability to make posts consistently. I've only made posts consistently for a week, once. Even though I've spent more than a year. Anyway, we grow everyday.

Righttttt, me and you both. That's why I sometimes write from personal experiences too. Any small thing that comes to my mind, I turn into an article or make a video.
Yes oo, being consistent can be very hard sometimes but there is this thing that drives us and that is having a strong determination to achieve sure things and you are already moving in that direction, sooner than later you will see positive results.

Indeed the leofinance community is an amazing community and its really so hard to come up with finance related posts. In fact sometimes I feel is for some selected people, lol but that is not true at all.
I see your main issue is being engaged and you engaging, well, I would love to advice you that even as you have found dreemport, you should use the ecency front-end more in making your comments and also try to meet up with the top engages as this will be a source of m for you to keep going when you feel like giving up.
Indeed these people you've mentioned are really good at helping others that are around them and I'm happy you have them.
If you want to gain visibility, like you said, it is all about how well you engage and I'm very sure you will do really well henceforth.

What are your past or current Hive struggles?
Men! The struggle boku ooo. First, I had the problem of knowing where to go. It wasn't long though before I started knowing the right communities to get support.
Tags were a problem too. Not knowing which tags to use could make you earn less or could hide tour post from the right curators of your content.
There was also this one of formatting my articles. What I could do was just to write whatever it was I wanted to write and post them like that sometimes in block. But all that is in the past now.
Recently, the struggle have become that some of the communities that gave supports to newbies have become dormant on the blockchain. Now, we are looking elsewhere, thankfully we found some.
How were you able to find your way on Hive?
I had to pay the price. I made sacrifices by ensuring that I post relevant and original articles in communities like #proofofbrain #neoxiancity #theinkwell #writingclub and so on. In these communities, you are sure to find supposed and maintain your Hive Power. The most here is to engage in as much as possible contest. Who know, you may be in for some winning and grow your presence here.
What community or person helped you during your low times here?
Guys like @kenechukwu97 was very instrumental to how I navigated the blockchain. He was readily available yo tell me what to do. Till now, I still take lessons from him shaa. I'd like to use this medium to encourage Nigerians who have become whales on the blockchain to look back and help their brothers. Fortunately enough, we have a lot of them here. As mentioned above some communities helped a lot. More importantly, I subscribed to the #dreemportChannel to curate posts daily, for five days in a week and get paid for every week. For now, there is nothing I am struggling with than to have a greater HP. I am currently building my HP and would want to make it go higher than what it is currently.

The topic is quite intriguing and easy to relate to. It even made me a bit nostalgic about my steemit days when I hardly gotten any recognition, upvote or notice. I just felt the platform was kind of hard to grow. So I did what any human being in my shoes would do. I gave up and concluded never to come back.
But here I am on hive. It's not like I'm saying hive is a lot easier but it gives that feeling of accommodating and uplifting in a way. What even made it better for me is my friendship with @samostically.
He took out time to explain hive to me down to the last part. I even remember when he was talking to me about hive engine tokens and stuffs like that and I was like guy be fast about it and buy me a nice meal with your hive money. But here I am again and his lectures really paved the way. He made it easy and stress-free to work on the platform. Even told me how I should design my schedule and make out time to interact with the community which is an essential growth process on the platform. This, I am really working hard towards making it work for me despite my busy schedule.
In the nutshell that's my struggle.

I think you don't have to ask for permission from someone before the person becomes your mentor because from what I've seen, most people don't accept being another's mentor, so you are the one that choose them and not the other way around.

I think I can relate well with that because I've heard so much about steemit from those that have been there and they made it clear that it was a true struggle compared to hive. We are just so lucky we found a place like Hive, were we are welcomed with open arms.

It hurts when you take your precious time to make a post that you feel might be beneficial to your readers and they end up not giving it a read or a view to the blogs. WHAT ARE MY PAST OR CURRENT HIVE STRUGGLES????
On joining the hive platform about 5 months ago, life was very hard for me as a newbie which is not new as i need to build up myself before i could be strong enough, it was tough but i believed it would all be over soon until i saw the worst of it all...
The first two months i spent on the hive platform were hellish, my onboarder told me that i have to make quality post to get oldbies attracted to my post, at first it was the vote issue but i was still of the courage that it will be well..
My past hive struggles were votes, my first month on the hive platform was just like a waste of time, no upvotes, no comment, imagine having $0 on a post you racked your brain to make, and i was dishing out quality post and even with that my post were not seen neither were there any comment and it all discouraged me...
My current hive struggles is i don't know how to use vlogg, i have made attempt to use it last week but all the problem i encountered made me loose hope and i gave up on it and continued on my blogging life...
HOW WAS I ABLE TO FIND MY WAY ON HIVE??
After experiencing several heartbreaks from my first month, i decided to do things differently and see if it would change and that was when i started joining different communities and then i planed my next goal which is making 10 comments a day in at least 5 communities..
That was how i started engagement on other people's post, the oldbies here, i started reading and commenting with my 0.00 vote, i was giving out and sooner or later i became a constant factor and then slowly i started getting known and the people i do visit their post now started visiting mine and that was when my glory started shining..
From engagement i started joining and getting verified in communities to participate in contests, communities like HIVE LEARNERS, NEOXIAN CITY, ECOTRAIN and they were the communities that helped me build my reputation on hive, from participating in contests and challenges i was then visited by lots of bloggers and was luckily visited by whales, it was rare but i was getting known and i was slowly finding my way...
That is to say, hivelearners, neoxian city and ecotrain and my mentor were the ones that helped me find my way on the hive platform..
WHAT COMMUNITY OR PERSON HELPED ME DURING MY LOW TIMES HERE???
Ohh i will forever be thankful to both the communities and persons that helped me in my low times on hive, when i was feeling down, heartbroken, discouraged and was about to quit my hive journey, my mentor became my strength, he was with me through thick and thin, he gave me confidence when i was without confidence, he stood by me, he delegated me with 100 hp to perform transactions of hive and even added me to his auto vote trail, helped emotionally, financially and educationally and then he introduced me to the great city that helped me build my career and that was how i was able to build my reputation on the platform..
Hive learners, Ecotrain and The great city of neoxian were the communities that helped me in my low times, they gave me the chance to participate in challenges and contest, i participated in contests and challenges and i won on several occasions and i was gifted, HPUD also helped me when i won power up delegation for a month, it gave me the ability to vote quality posts...
There is also someone who helped me apart from my onboarder, he is great man and a very special being, he helped me in building myself on the hive platform, i will like to keep his identity anonymous but he was and he is still my strength...
DO I STRUGGLE WITH SOMETHING AND NEED HELP???
Oh yeah, i struggle with just one thing and that is vlogging, i need help on how to create a threespeaks account and after trying severally last week, i am tired and i am weak and i am about to give up on vlogging, i need help and i think i will find it sooner or later..

Hahahaha I can imagine. So sorry about that. I can imagine the struggles when you first started. I made posts for months with few cents but I just kept at it because I love making contents. A lot of people said they didn't understand my level of motivation but my motivation was to be heard but I feel you, it is discouraging after making posts for months with no value on it. What are your past or current Hive struggles?
The past and current struggles remain the same; most people don't really read and commenting has been an issue. I don't get as much engagement on my posts in terms of commenting as I would have liked but I know that would change when my HP increases more and I am giving sizeable upvotes to my commenters. I noticed every community stresses the importance of commenting but only a few comments. I got discouraged at some point too that I reduced my comments because those I commented on their post didn't even reply. It's that bad... I don't know how people leave comments on their posts hanging. I've never left a comment hanging...not even one.
How were you able to find your way on Hive?
It was a lot of hard work and consistently dishing out good contents. I make sure I post daily and I don't think for all the time I've been on Hive, I have never missed a day of not posting. It takes consistency... Overtime the visibility would come...I am still pressing towards the mark. Through commenting and posting quality content with consistency, I met amazing people. I have the honour of meeting sir @ericvancewalton and so many I can't even start listing here. They eased me into my journey and I learn a great deal from them. I love taking instructions from sir @galenkp. I love how he bare his mind and I've never for once seen his advice as being too much. When we are open to learning, it becomes easier to thrive on Hive.
What community or person helped you during your low times here?
Those two amazing people I mentioned above with a lot of people I can't even mention helped me a great deal. The Tangerine Travels helped me a lot too but they are no longer active on Hive. The Weekend Experiences helped a great deal, OCD community, Dreemers, BD Community, India United Community, Proof of Brain, Thoughtful Daily Post Community, Neoxian City and so many... I've lost count. They came through for me and I will always be grateful.
Do you struggle with something currently and need help? What are they?
More visibility...but that can be fixed on my part if I engage more. More upvotes too...which can also be fixed with more engagements... I feel with more HP, I can pull a lot more...to help others... I would be hoping on a massive delegation and I would mean a lot to me.

Everyone always talks about engaging and the importance of it but it's not always easy. Most of us are in multiple communities so it can be difficult to keep up with all of them at the same time. Making an engagement schedule may help but for me doing that will just make it feel like a chore, I'd rather just go wherever the wind of hive blows me whenever. This makes it a lot easier but it may not be enough.
I think I'll just keep doing that because i'd rather engage meaningfully and genuinely than do without sincerity just because "I have to do it".
There are some communities that won't even upvote you until your engagement reaches a certain count. Engagement takes a lot. Yes, engagement isn't just in a particular post...as long as you are engaging in other community, that's fine... It's about keeping the Hive ecosystem going not just making up the numbers.
I totally agree. The movies and tv shows community, I've noticed, values meaningful engagement and it's usually a criterion for getting upvoted. It may be a strict measure but unfortunately, people may not engage without it.

Omo I can relate with you @samostically... It can be sad when one doesn't get engagement on posts, it's a vibe killer. But I learned that sometimes it's a give an take. We need to give people a reason to leave comments.
If we want comments, we need to give comments too. Also, our replies to peoples comment will encourage them to drop comments next time. So it's also necessary to reply people's comments on our post not ignore them.
Engaging isn't as easy as it sounds, it can be hard sometimes. You know, having to be everywhere and dropping reasonable feedbacks. I'm also trying to work on that.
As for the videos, I'm pretty sure you aren't the only one. I've seen others with low views too. I guess that sometimes people don't have time to watch videos or maybe they have issues playing the video. But it doesn't mean you should give up, keep giving it your best shot!
Lastly, I totally understand you on the emotional part, it happens. Life issues can be so overwhelming and taking breaks are necessary, except that when we return, the workload doubles. For me, taking breaks gives me more strength even when it gets harder.
This makes a ton of sense.
I have some posts that didn't get very encouraging upvotes but has good engagement and I was satisfied. knowing that people actually read your posts makes making them worth it.
The no upvotes thing can be discouraging too but people engaging with my posts brings me some comfort. I guess we'll just keep making posts and engaging while keeping our fingers crossed that somehow one whale will notice us enough to visit once in a while and give encouraging upvotes.
The emotional part is something I think we don't talk about enough. Our offline life affects our lives on hive too but I think some of us forget sometimes. The truth is you can't function properly if you don't feel okay physically, mentally and emotionally. I just hope that none of us have to take long breaks that'll alienate us from hive because of those problems.

First I'd like to say that I think this Naija weekend engagement thing is genius.
When I first came on hive, I saw this community subscribed even but I was a little disappointed with how dull n lifeless it was so I just moved on and forgot about it.
I'm glad it's been brought back to life and we get to connect with our Nigerian brethren. We get swept up in this fantastic online world that we sometimes forget the struggles we face in real life being Nigerians and all. It's comforting to know that there's a community of people that can relate to and even understand your struggles, it makes it a lot more bearable. I am glad to be a part of this and I hope it stays on for a long long time.

MY STRUGGLES
I haven't completely found my footing. I'm still tryna figure out a posting schedule that can keep me consistent here and not take a toll on my daily life but this is difficult seeing as unpredictable as my offline schedule is. I hope I find my pace very soon but until then I'll keep doing what I can.
Most other struggles I have boil down to what I already mentioned. Once I figure that out, the rest will fall into place.
Finding post inspiration isn't always easy. This is funny because there are a ton of potential blog topics both on and off of hive but sometimes it just doesn't come. Maybe it's cuz I haven't fully adjusted yet but hopefully with time, this won't be a problem for me anymore.🤞
HOW I FOUND MY WAY/PEOPLE THAT HELPED IN MY LOW TIMES
Hive was this new fascinating world when I just got here, it still is but I can say I can navigate it a lot better than I could then. Having someone helped a lot, My friend @theawesononso got here before me so he played a vital role. Thanks to him, my initial days here weren't as confusing and frustrating as they'd have been without anybody to help.
I had the whole resource credits wahala initially too. I bought some hive to help but it still wasn't enough. Surprisingly, a kind soul randomly selected me and I was gifted a 150 hp delegation from total strangers. The person that nominated me for this delegation is Tengolotodo. I know most of you may know him and you can agree that he's one of the kindest, most generous people we have here. Thanks to him and the delegators, I never had the RC issue again so making posts and engaging was a breeze.
Dreemport has played a major role in this aspect of my hive journey too. The dreem family has been amazing and they are definitely one of the things that keep me going.

Anyway, I can relate to the issue of inspiration, sometimes it's writer's block taking a toll on me or I'm just finding it difficult keeping balance online and offline life...

Omo that RC issue was a serious problem for me eeh 😅... I remember disturbing my onboarder with complaints on a regular... I can't even remember how I solved that issue, it's as if it just faded with time.

I totally understand you, for how long that I've been on hive, posting consistently hasn't been my thing. At times I'm a bit disappointed In myself, but I'm learning to be more consistent. Most times at the end of the day I'm too tired to write anything and I just sleep off. Or I start writing and fall asleep midway. If you look at most of my posts, most of them are completed 5 minutes nutes to 1 o'clock, Utc midnight. Anyways, it'll come good in the end as long as you don't dissappear. Just keep posting as frequently as you can, and commenting everyday so it doesn't seem like you left.
It's great to see that @dreemport have helped your growth. Dreemy and co have also been very instrumental to my growth as well. I've just not been as involved as I probably should be.

I get disappointed in myself too sometimes lol but I'm learning to not always be too hard on myself because I'd rather hive at my convenience and enjoy it than force myself and dislike every second. I don't think you can be fully committed to hive if you don't enjoy it so my advice to you is to not always be hard on yourself. Take it easy and you'll be fine.

Yes, I was reluctant at first because I don't want them to look at me somehow but I managed to ask and he delegated 150 Hp and because I was using it very well, he delegated 1500 Hp, really huge. The day I saw it I was speechless for some minutes and that really motivated me to always do what I know how to do best.

I just got to find out yesterday, that I have been using some wrong tags from my contest entry in the hive learners community, and all the post I have been posting in the community since I joined it, hasn't been counting, it breaks my heart, and my head spins realizing my mistakes. I lose focus most time, and I don't have time to comment on other people's posts, which I have to if I want them to do the same for me too. Sometimes it's hard, because even people you comment on their posts, don't end up doing the same🥲. But I am not giving up, I am giving hive all my best, till I achieve what I want.
•How were you able to find your way to give?
I was looking for a site, where u can write and get paid. Then an acquaintance, introduce me to @princessbusayo who happens to be my neighbour, I went to her, tell her I am interested in blogging, and she get me on board.

My Struggles in hive.
They include visibility. Like I said, I enjoy the few interactions I get. It isn’t a matter of post quality, formatting and all that. I dealt with them even before coming to hive. However I struggled with getting my way around and knowing exactly how the system works. I didn’t ask questions. I was just a one man army- hive is quite the opposite.
How I found my way through hive.
To be honest I’m still on the road and sometimes there are these smoky doorways I don’t know. I don’t have the blueprints yet so I’m still learning on my own. I try to get some help too. @kenechukwu I’m still on your matter.
Community that helped.
I think I found a home in @theinkwell and @dreemport. They helped a great deal to connect the dots. I found a place to grow, learn and most of all express myself in those communities.
What I need now
I need engagement and rewards. Lots of them to be honest. I also need to know the right things to do on the blockchain in order to grow my hive power.
