Summary Of The Weekend Engagement

The 14th hive-naija weekend engagement kicked off on friday(March 4th,2022) and ended on Sunday(March 6,2022) 11:59pm (GMT+1). It was an interesting chat as we gather together for the Fourteenth week running, to gist, and chat together as a family.

The topic was "Inflation In Prices"

Yes, we discussed about the Inflation situation in our country Nigeria.
It was an interesting weekend as we talked about our the crisis ongoing in the world, we focused our discussions on these questions.

What Do you think About Inflation in General?

Is there any product or service rendered that the price has remained the same in the last 5 years?

What do you think about the current fuel scarcity? Has it affected things in the country?

How does this inflation in prices affect you personally?

This is probably the lowest engagement week. I was under the weather and I wasn't able to contribute to the discussion. So yeah, it's my fault. But 130+ however is still alot. Thanks to everyone who take their time to show up every week.

Inflation in general has been a disaster to Nigeria's economy and most times the govt will say we are recovering and also say we are out of inflation yet there is no difference.. Basically I don't know how we Nigerians leave on a daily. I'll say by grace..
Mind you we are yet to recover from inflation not talk of recover..

@wildthougts says,

A thousand naira is almost worth nothing at the moment. There was a time I could withdraw just 1k but now I can't cause it'll finish that moment as it's value is worth nothing.
The issue of fuel is something else. Places that were 50 bucks is now 100. Transport anywhere is now double the price.
The expenses keep increasing but income doesn't. At the same time, the value of the currency keep depreciating.

@khaleesii tells us that,

As someone who takes care of herself financially, it has affected me a lot; prices of pads are up, noodles, even something as little as tomtom and for someone who earns only from hive, most days it isn't enough and I have to sacrifice a lot to survive.
