My Memeful Week

The week of the average Nigerian teen is quite hectic. If that teenager is based in Port Harcourt, well it's hectically amusing. If that teenager based in Port Harcourt is as active on social media as I am, then the amusing bit would almost always overshadow the hectic part😂😂😭

My week, despite always going to school and the multiple assignments, notes, papers and chores still found some spare moments to make me laugh and these are through memes.

Memes.. A revolutionary term for pictures with little or no captions that is used to pass out a feeling, a belief, a thought or and mostly a joke.

We as Nigerian's have made it our personal mission to be the King and Queen's of memes and teenagers are the main owners of the meme kingdom 😂

Before we set off on this grand venture, we needed a place we could post and create our memes, a place with little constrictions and almost everything goes as long as it (at leasts) hints at or is a joke.
A place like Twitter 😃

Our jokes are quite hilarious to anyone, as long as the person isn't the object of the joke 😂

Almost all our memes are created in Twitter, then we screenshot and pass along ourselves on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp 😂
Most times, the memes are still reposted on Twitter 😂
At such so many memes have poor quality, but yet the fact that it has poor quality, means it has been passed numerous times and at such, it is super funny.

The main meme lords, have channels and put stickers of their brands on their memes.
This helps identify where this meme is coming from, who owns it and how to get that person.

Of course there are numerous Whatsapp meme channels and almost all of them have the same batch of memes so the hunt for original memes is quite high.

This last week, I've come across numerous memes, some which I've already shared during the writing of this post others to come and plenty stuck in my gallery 😉

I happened to have shared one recently on either #threads or #dbuzz...

Yep, memes have really helped me this week and since the beginning of my teenage life.

Memes aren't bound to anything or anyone. It's a neutral ground were everything is a premise to a great joke 🤣

Politics, religion, social standing, color, the more controversial it is, the better its chances of being a wonderful meme

In Nigeria especially, everything is a joke or meme, its a sad reality that we have expected and made the most of.
After all, even though we don't have money or a good government and the country's economy is in shambles, it hasn't killed our ability to have fun.

Regardless, memes are a large part of our lifestyle and were a huge part of my week.

Another small highlight is this song.

Since I first heard it on Monday, It has been stuck on my head and it's what I'm listening to now 😭
Unfailingly, one of the best highlights of my week, and its what I'm using to end this post.
