I think the idea comes out of europe with the christians.
It's a crowd control component.
I'd be surprised that parents in ghana don't have something similar in function, if not form.
Do ya'll not fear the things under the bed, or in the closet?
We do have scary stories here too. Gradually, they've all been placed in the superstition column.
