Beautiful roosters in the market vs. the purchasing power of the middle class.
Yesterday afternoon, as I had some time on my hands, I went to our local market. The purpose was to buy some good quality local chickens for cooking. Those of you who are familiar with the market know that the market is on fire these days.
The rise in commodity prices is not just a news in the newspapers, it now directly affects the pockets of ordinary people like us.
As soon as I entered the market, I started looking for my desired chicken. Although there are many types of chickens in the market, after going a little further, my eyes were caught by two extraordinarily beautiful roosters kept in a cage in a shop. The rooster looked really very dainty and beautiful. Its big red crest on its head and slender body are bound to catch the attention of any person. I thought of buying this rooster in my mind.
I went to the shopkeeper and asked the price of the rooster. When I heard the price he quoted, I felt like I had fallen from the sky. The price he asked was much higher than my budget. The current situation of our pockets is quite pitiful due to the skyrocketing prices of daily necessities.
This unbridled increase in market prices is making the lives of people, especially those with a fixed income, increasingly miserable. The prices of everything from vegetables to fish and meat, even rice and pulses, have increased several times more than before. Although I had a passion for buying a beautiful rooster, when I faced the reality of my pocket, that passion quickly evaporated.
Finally, with a rather depressed and forced feeling, I went to the boiler chicken shop. I was forced to buy a boiler chicken because its price is relatively low. As a middle-class person, I have to pay more attention to my needs than my hobbies.
