Golden memories of childhood after Friday prayers.

Today, as I left the mosque after offering Friday prayers, I saw a different atmosphere on the narrow street next to the mosque. There is a crowd of people on Fridays. In the middle of that crowd, an elderly man was sitting on a red stool on the sidewalk with honey in a glass bottle. In front of him, a few people were eagerly waiting to buy pure honey. Seeing the scene of selling honey on the street in that old-fashioned way, I suddenly remembered the memories of buying pure honey with my grandfather or father in the past.

As I walked a little further, I saw another familiar picture. Right next to a tea shop near the mosque, an ice cream vendor was selling ice cream from a beautiful colorful box on the back of a bicycle. Seeing ice cream in that old-fashioned box reminded me of my childhood. After Friday prayers, when we were children, we would also wait for the ice cream vendor in front of the mosque with our father's hand or with our friends. The arrival of the ice cream vendor after ringing the bell and then the excitement of eating that colorful ice cream is still vivid in my mind.

Nowadays, it is rare to see these ice cream vendors or hawkers in the crowded shopping malls and fast food joints. So, suddenly seeing these scenes on Friday, a strange nostalgia came to my mind. The memories of that simplicity and pure joy of childhood brought new life to this busy city. These small scenes prove that even amidst the mechanicalness, the real beauty of life is mixed in these simple moments of our tradition.
