This is my entry for the Battle Mage Secrets challenge
This week's theme is the Melee Mayhem ruleset, so I want to share a battle with it.

The battle ruleset

  • 20 mana cap
  • Ruleset - Melee Mayhem
  • Splinter - All Splinters can be used, except Dragon Splinter

In this ruleset, I prefer to use melee monsters with low mana costs and additional melee attacks. This allows me to enter more monsters on the battlefield, which in turn increases my team's damage. Additionally, armor is essential for protecting my monsters from enemy attacks. So I decided to use Water Splinter for this battle.
Earth Splinter is also another good choice. However, I see Earth Splinter has lower Speed than Water Splinter and it would be a big disadvantage in this battle.

My lineup

SummonerKEYLA FRENDUL - to have +1 Speed in order to give the early attacks and +1 armor to protect my monsters
1st positionCruel Sethropod - a 3 mana monster with a good amount of armor and 4 health points
2nd positionPelacor Bandit - a high speed monster with Fly ability, he can deal an early attack and can evade some attack when he is the 1st position
3rd positionDemented Shark - the most important monster in this battle with his Inspire ability which gives +1 melee attack to all of my monsters
4th positionUraeus - another 3 mana monster with 2 melee attack
5th positionHardy Stonefish - only cost 1 mana but he can deal 1+1 attack in the battle. He has low speed so I put him in 5th position so he can be protected by Torrent Fiend
6th positionTorrent Fiend - 0 mana cost but he can deal 1+1 attack in the battle

The battle

  • My enemy chose level 4 Tarsa for this battle. She gave +1 melee attack and +1 health to all of the monsters. However, my enemy used 2 ranged monsters that could not get all the benefits from Tarsa. They also couldn't deal the damage in the 1st position.
  • Besides, the enemy monsters didn't have any armor.
  • My enemy had 5 monsters on the battlefield while I had fully 6 monsters.
  • With the above points, my team lineup had more advantages than my enemy team.
  • And my team was able to convert these advantages into a winning battle after 3 rounds.
