Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge - A brawl battle with Holy Protection/Armored Up/Lost Magic
Hello all Splinters,
This is my entry for the Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge ๐. This week's theme is Ruleset Riddles, where you can share a breakdown of your card choices and key decisions.
Today, I would like to share with you my recent brawl battle. Before going into the battle details, I would like to share a quick overview of the brawl result.
I played in fray 13 - Bronze league cap and GF only.
About the personal result, I got 8W and 1L, including 1 automatic win because one opponent guild did not enter my fray. Besides that, 4 opponents fled the battles. So there are 4 actual battles completed, and I won 3 of them. 75% win rate is a good result

I contributed 24 scores and ranked 1, together with @sm-rules.
- About the guild result, we ranked no. 3. I really don't remember the last time we reached this position. With management from @anjanida , all 16 frays were fulfilled, and it led to this good result. A part of reward from this post will go to @anjanida as my appreciation to his dedication in running this guild.

Now, let's come back to the battle.
1. The ruleset
33 mana cap - a medium mana cap battle
Holy protection - all monsters get Divine Shield at the start of the battle; Armored Up - all monsters get 2 additional armors; and Lost Magic - no magic monster in this battle.
Only Water and Dragon Splinter can be used in this battle

With these rulesets, some key strategies can be used
Monsters with Blast ability to blow away Divine Shield and Armor as quickly as possible
Monster with Repair and/or Tank Heal to keep protecting the tanker
There is no magic monster on the battlefield, so no monster can bypass the armor. Tankers with strong health and high armor are highly recommended
Monster with Shatter who can destroy all the armor with 1 hit.
That's not all but you can discover more later. Here comes my team lineup.
2. My team lineup
Summoner | Kenya Frendul - my favorite Water summoner. He is extremely fit for this battle. He gives 1 additional armor and speed to all the monsters. My team can take some advantage with early attacks. | |
1st position | Commander Slade - I chose him because he is a suitable tanker with high armor and health. His Enfeeble skill is also very useful to reduce the melee attack of opponent tanker | |
2nd position | Venari Marksrat - Martyr is all I need from him :) | |
3rd position | Isgald Vorst - one of my favorite Gladiators in the Water Splinter | |
4th position | Battering Ram - I chose him to use up all the mana. He can work well together with Isgald Vorst because both of them have Opportunity skill | |
5th position | Merdaali Guardian - I chose her because of her Tank Heal ability, that can keep my Commander Slade stay longer in the battle | |
---|---|---|
6th position | Swamp Spitter - a must have monster in this battle with Repair skill. He will repair 2 armor each round and it likes another protection layer for my monsters. |
3. The battle
Kantaras is the Arena host of this battle. That means Kantaras will have some advantage over me, like winning the draw battle or attacking first with the same speed.
Kantaras also chose Water Summoner, but it is Pembrook Nymph to use 2 Gladiators on the battlefield. Isgald Vorst and Swamp Spitter were also selected.
With the team line up from both sides, can you guess who win the battle? Put your answer in the poll and you can click on this link to watch the battle result or this one
I hope you enjoy the battle and see some useful information in this post.
Have a nice week ahead!
FHREE.org TCG Guild welcomes all the Splinters to join as freeloaders, and you only need to contribute at least 1 Guild Power each week to stay.
