Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Folen Flameye - my newly added monster

Hello all #Splinterlands friends,

This is my entry for the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge this week 🌟

As I already shared in the

https://ecency.com/hive-177682/@sodom-lv/splinterlands-season-74-report-back

, I returned to the Modern format, which is free to play and can earn some good rewards. With level 2 Underboss Fabino, I want to buy the monsters that match his skills.

I set some filters to search for the monsters

  • Of course, it must be Earth Splinter

  • It can play in the Modern format - Conclave Arcana or Rebellion

  • I prefer Melee monster because it can get +2 melee attack from Fabino

Finally, I found this guy - Folen Flameye. He costs 7 mana and has 3 melee attacks/8 health points. The most important is his Flank skill, which allows the melee monster in the 2nd position to attack the enemy.

I immediately bought him at the price $0.95 (or 1065 DEC) and now it has reduced a bit to $0.924 (or 1014 DEC)

Now, let's put him on the battlefield.

Battle rulesets

  • 38 mana cap

  • Briar Patch - all units have Thorn which will return 2 damages to melee attackers, and Broken Arrow - doesn't allow to use any ranged monster in the battle

  • Water and Death Splinter can not be used in this battle

These rulesets are not suited best for melee monsters because of Briar Patch, but I was so excited with Folen Flameye, so I want to use him as soon as possible. I still went ahead with Earth Splinter in this battle

Team lineup

Summoner

Underboss Fabino - Of course, I chose this mafia boss as the summoner because I want to test my strategy immediately

1st position

Folen Flameye - I don't need to explain 1 more time while I put this guy in the 1st position 😆

2nd position

Endless Ape - I chose him in this position because he can attack from the 2nd position with the effect of Flank from Folen Flameye. Besides, he gains 1 HP for each defeated monster on the battlefield, and this ape is very useful as the 2nd tanker

3rd position

Thanalorian Blade - I chose him because of his Execute skill, which allows him to give the 2nd attack if the targeted monster's health drops below 2 after his 1st attack.

4th position

Blackmoor Wild Elf - I chose her because of the Amplify skill which will cause 1 additional damage to Thorns in this battle

5th position

Ujurak Mystic - his Lookout skill will reduce the damage by 1 if my opponent uses any monsters having the skill to bypass the tanker, like Sneak, Opportunities, or Snipe.

6th position

Ujurak Elder - to use up all the mana

  • My opponents also chose Earth Splinter with level 1 Aurelia as the summoner, and all of the monsters were capped at level 1.

  • I chose +2 melee attack for Endless Ape and Thanalorian Blade. I think this combination is very powerful because Endless Ape can deal more damage from the 2nd position, while Thanalorian Blade can freely attack opponent monsters.

  • Finally, my team easily defeated the opponent in round 3, and I lost 2 monsters.

That's all for now.

I hope you enjoy these battles, find some useful information in this post.

Have a nice weekend!

Thanks for your support.
I see some people received higher vote % from Ecency. Are there any rules or requirements to get higher vote?
Just curious 🤔

Another battle with Folen Flameye against a stronger opponent, and he still can win the battle.

That's indeed again a very well done report! I love how you gave some insights in your market and strategy decisions. (I wished it be still worth it to go into trading cards from the "Wild Format", but that's only a mantra-like comment on my overall perspective, that the @splinterlands team is not doing itself any favor by conducting centralized only league rank play.) Right on!!
