Her - about a Butterfly... or a Moth
This little black lady was so shy when She saw me that She immediately turned and hid behind this weed leaf.
But I was insistent and went behind Her. Because I never imagined that something black, a black living being could be so beautiful.
Maybe you find it funny that I say "she" or "her".
For me, however, this is completely natural. First, when you see something so beautiful, you can't help but define it as feminine. And when it behaves so delicately and shyly - even more so.
Even more so because in my native language the word for butterfly is feminine. Ok, ok... I know it's not a butterfly, it's a moth. But in beauty it chases, even surpasses butterflies.
And it has another advantage. You can also laugh at me for perceiving butterflies as little capricious ladies who play games with photographers when they try to photograph them, flying away from the flower they landed on the moment they managed to focus them. And this moth here, this gorgeous Amata phegea or Nine-spotted moth didn't play any games. It just hid behind the leaf.
And I hope it is safe now, because I met it on the sidewalk of a street in a big southern Bulgarian city, in the greatest summer heat and dust.

Soul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you. |
