Hive at its best after some stealing - is it a community or a family?

Introduction

I love the Hive community at its best. It is when people are not arguing about % or playing the markets on small Hive projects and trying to make a dollar. It is not about witnesses arguing about APR on HBD or when people are judging and downvoting others peoples content cause they think they know better. These things maybe necessary at times but this does not highlight Hive at its best.

Now apart from being able to create a project on Hive easily and be creative, Hive has one thing that separates it from the rest of the crypto world. It has community. Now that is a word that is branded about a lot, often without depth.

The most common definition of community is "a group of people with a common characteristic or interest living together within a larger society" now this only starts to unpick what a community is. There are communities or tribes within Hive that live within the larger society that is Hive, but I am talking about more than this. Synonyms for community you could use are words like "fellowship" or "brotherhood" or "sisterhood". When you start to look at this as a synonym for community and apply it to Hive, then it is not only a group of people who have something in common, it is a group of people from all around the world whom support each other.

Happy to help

So this bring me to why I wrote this post. As most of you know we often share lots of our own creative material. we are a group of musicians and artists called the Stick Up Boys, we are also a community of sorts. However the other definitions of the deeper meaning of what a community can be also applies to us. To put it in a nutshell and in our own language, we stick together when shit gets real.

Now this happens on Hive quite a lot and to me it is the very best of Hive. I have seen Bore Holes drilled, I have seen people club together to help people with medical expenses, I have seen Rising Star players club together when a player has got hacked and these are just a few examples off the top of my head. I also remember the @pimp.token coming together when poor @enginewitty had a fire at his house. It was inspiring to see a group of people come together to help one of their own. I am sure if you are reading this and are a dedicated hiver then you will have your own examples of people helping and support each other.

Stolen Hive

Now onto the reason I am writing this post. I am not sure if you have heard of Serfdom and Sorcery the discord RPG game linked to Hive @masterrpgbot being made by the @psyber-x team. However Draconian Overlord or Jboss...had his private account stolen from which is everyone's worst nightmare. I believe it was by a dev he was working with but do not know all the details and just shows that you can't trust anyone in this world.

What is so uplifting though again is the support from the hive community. You can see here the generosity of the "community" around him and this only happened about 12 hours ago.

You can help out by sending to this account if it takes your fancy https://peakd.com/@psyberhelp/wallet/hive

So yet again to me, Hive helps people when they are in need and I am not sure what other crypto project does the same. However I am glad to be part of Hive and see what happens when a community is more like a "family" and helps it members in time of need.

I was sad to know about this steal, but it's appreciable to see people are helping to the cause.

I would like to say here that when a person has been working in a place for such a long time, the people who work there become like his family because we have to talk to each other every day.
