Introduction

@ablaze has been doing 3 tune Tuesday for quite a while and we love the idea of it and some of the posts. it is a great way to listen to new music which is always something we want to do!

Our picks

This week we are going full Ape with the Gorillaz! Very influential band for us and quite a few times we have been referred to as the Gorillaz of Brighton! There is no doubt that when they first came out it was different and exciting and the SUB kids all love it too so it is a win win for any playlist of ours!

Song 1

Now Feel Good Inc is like the classic Gorillaz! Apart from the great bass and beat what we love about this tune most is the "shugar shugar" backing vocal. How can you not feel cool when listen to this tune. When It goes down to the acoustic guitar it is like a throwback to blur but then goes back to pure Gorillaz with the great rapping they have!

Song 2

Clint Eastwood (who is a hero of ours and is like 100 now!) is a also on of the original songs and has such a catchy chorus! Damon really nails it with this one, although I listen to the vocal and think would that make it out of our studio as it is kind of lazy and scrappy round the edges...but it works. Again all the little backing sounds on this track really create the ambience of the whole track.

Song 3

Dare is like an anomaly! Getting Shaun Ryder out to do this one is genius! Rumour has it that he could not pronounce There and hence it became Dare not there. It is a brilliant mix of his vocals and classic Gorillaz. The pads and backing vox on this tune add layers of melody that Shaun generally needs behind him, however much we love him! The Minimoog bass is also simple but growly...love it all!

We love all types of music and hope that you like our choices!

Big up all the music in the world and the joy we get making and listening to it!

Oh this takes me back. When Clint Eastwood hit the charts in Germany it was also played all around in radio and at every party. This fascinating mix of rap and melodic chorus caught everyone's ear.
Thank you for that blast from the past :-)
