Is real estate a safe investment?

A lot of people think real estate is a safe and sound investment where nothing could go wrong.

And then a real-estate-bubble like in 2008 bursts, where a lot of people lost almost everything due to collapsing prices and higher mortgage-rates.

Want to add some global warming to the risk?

There are busier hurricane seasons like ever in the atlantic, floodings, wildfires and many more natural disaster risks that could occur. All those might leave your hardly earned house in pebbles.

So long story short. Buying ONE house or appartement is quite a big risk and personally I am fan of little risk and big return, not the other way round.
