Rice is beneficial for health, but which ones?

  • Thus, rice is a food rich in starch and it is considered to be a very beneficial food for health, but is it really so?

Experts say that the health benefits of rice depend on the type of rice consumed.

  • A recent study

  • Experts said that white rice is less nutritious. B vitamins, iron, and fiber are stripped from white rice during processing in mills.
Although it is rich in iron and B vitamins and despite processing, the amount remains the same in white rice, but the fibers are completely cleaned.

  • Remember that fiber is very helpful in improving digestion and rice without fiber causes obesity. On the other hand, brown or brown rice is present with all its nutrients because only the outer husk is removed during processing which is not edible.

  • Brown rice is rich in antioxidants, vitamin E and fiber. According to experts, one cup of cooked brown rice contains 3.5 grams of fiber, while the same amount of white rice contains less than one gram of fiber.

  • According to research, brown rice contains another substance called subalerin, which surprisingly is not present in white rice. It protects against high blood pressure i.e. high blood pressure. Similarly, brown rice also reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes.

  • Experts suggest that the best type of rice should be selected before eating it in order to benefit from the nutrients it contains.

Well as it is we just bye rice because we're hungry , we don't really go to the nutrients and benefits that it brings to the body. And secondly we wouldn't be moving around with microscope in other to test all the rice from the store. It's usually a great thing that these foods have the best nutrients but I personally don't see rice as a highly nutritious food. I see it as supplement but main course meal
