After I love mountains! [ENG-BN]

As a Bangladeshi, I can say that the majority of Bangladeshi people do not know what the beauty of mountains is like or what life there is like. A big reason for this is that Bangladesh is, overall, a flat and wetland country. About 80% of the country is flat land and wetlands. Bangladesh is called the largest delta in the world. Furthermore, due to this landscape, most people have never seen mountains; they are used to seeing mountains only on screens, perhaps in movies or plays. Another big reason that has made this situation even more difficult is that Bangladeshi people are not as travel-enthusiastic as they are foodies. For this reason, most people, especially a large part of the older generation, have never been involved in traveling, although this situation is currently changing. However, the hilly areas here are not easily accessible; due to the poor condition of transportation and the lack of good management for tourists, this situation has not improved much.
[BN: একজন বাংলাদেশি হিসেবে এটা বলতে পারি যে, বাংলাদেশের সিংহভাগ জনগণই জানে না পাহাড়ের সৌন্দর্য কেমন এবং এখানকার জীবনযাপনই বা কেমন। এর বড় কারণ হচ্ছে বাংলাদেশ সর্বোপরি একটা সমতল এবং জলাভূমির দেশ। এদেশের প্রায় ৮০% জায়গাই সমতল এবং জলাভূমি। বাংলাদেশকে বলা হয় পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে বড় বদ্বীপ। আরো বলা যায়, এই ভূপ্রকৃতির কারণে বেশিরভাগ লোক কখনোই পাহাড় দেখে নাই; পাহাড়ের দর্শন তারা শুধু স্ক্রিনের পর্দাতেই দেখে অভ্যস্ত, হয়তো সিনেমা কিংবা নাটকে। আরেকটা বড় কারণ এই অবস্থাটাকে আরো কঠিন করে তুলেছে, আর সেটা হলো—বাংলাদেশের মানুষ এতটা ভ্রমণপিপাসু না যেমনটা তারা খাদ্যরসিক। এই কারণে বেশিরভাগ লোক, বিশেষ করে প্রবীণ গোষ্ঠীর বড় একটা অংশ ঘুরতে যাওয়ার সাথে কখনোই ছিল না, যদিও বর্তমানে এই অবস্থার পরিবর্তন হচ্ছে। তবে পাহাড়ি এলাকাগুলোও এখানে সহজগম্য নয়; যাতায়াতের বেহাল দশা এবং ট্যুরিস্টদের জন্য ভালো ম্যানেজমেন্ট না থাকায় এই দশার খুব বেশি উন্নতি হয় নাই।]

Anyway, for these reasons, I have been lucky enough to climb the mountains of Bangladesh only once, when I went to visit the Himchari waterfall at Cox's Bazar sea beach. Besides, that mountain was not as high as what I find in the mountains of Beijing. And Cox's Bazar does not fall among the famous hilly regions of Bangladesh. The country's only hilly regions fall into distant and weakly connected districts like Bandarban, Rangamati, and Khagrachari. Slight mountains can be seen in some areas of Cox's Bazar and Chittagong, which include this Himchari mountain. And the entire northern part of Beijing is covered with high mountains, many of which I have set foot on.

There are also many mountains around my living place in Huairou, which can be explored very easily. They are not very high, so the tracks are also very accessible and well-maintained. However, I have written a lot about those mountains; but today the mountains I will write about are located in the far north of Beijing and most of these mountains are not for climbing. However, there are many tourist spots in these areas from which the beauty of these wild mountains can be easily enjoyed.

I mentioned a place like this in my previous post, where I wrote about the glass bridge on the mountain peak for the first time. Today I will only talk about the surrounding mountains. First of all, I want to say that I have never traveled to such a fully mountain-enclosed scenic area before; although I visited a part of this area two years ago, which was a larger area than this but the height was relatively lower.

From the beginning, the place gave me a complete wildlife feel, as only mountains could be seen all around. The road I came through was also a valley, through which a river flowed (the name of which is X). Since it was the summer season, the green beauty of the mountains was worth seeing. As I said before, the mountains here are much higher than other places. It seemed that the peaks of some nearby mountains were covered in clouds. Although it was a sunny day, I felt that on cloudy days in the rainy season, these peaks are definitely covered in clouds.

The mountains here are very high and very steep, which is very difficult to climb. Most of the mountains here are made of rock, so big trees are relatively less common. So, tourist places often use cable cars to reach the peaks, although it is possible to climb the mountains by trekking, but it is time-consuming and difficult. And visitors can explore very little of the vast mountainous area here. Because it is forbidden to go into the deep mountains, only designated areas are open for all.

And the river that can be seen also looks very murky here because it was the rainy season when a lot of water flows due to mountain floods, but at other times the water is very clear. I was also fascinated by the distant mountains; there are very few settlements around, and it feels like stepping into a completely different world. It was a truly extraordinary travel experience for me that will remain unforgettable in my memories.
