Is Older Cards Pack Of Splinterlands Are Profitable?

Hello, my lovely friends in the Splinterverse.

I hope everyone of you is having a great time in the Splinterlands with much more fun with new cards and new strategies. The Splinterlands is becoming more exciting as new abilities are coming to the Splinterverse regularly. I have been playing the game for several years and I love this game because it is a game for all kinds of players and investors and also O love to share my experience with the game on a regular basis. As my participation in the "Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!", today I am going to share my investigation with the old edition of card packs like alpha or beta or something from the early editions.

Currently, there are very few packs are available form those editions and very few people buy those packs due to high price and if you are not lucky to have some gold foiled legendary, then your investment will be super loss project. For an example, the price of the alpha packs are listed with a price of $45 which is really so high in terms of the use cases of these cards are also limited in the wild format only. Here you can see that most of the packs are cheaper from the last two editions but the alpha and beta are expensive.

But I saw the Essence Orbs from the beta series are extremely cheaper than the normal core set of the beta packs. So, I wanted to try my luck with this mini set from beta edition which are not so expensive in current days unless it is a gold foil or not. But i wanted to use the gold foil one in my land which can give me more production points that helps in land activities.

The listed price of these packs are also very cheap than usual and similar of he price of some latest series. One card pack is around $3.35 and I have purchased 3 packs worth $10.05. I bought them with my credit that I have purchased couple of weeks ago for buying some modern cards. I will buy them later as soon as the Hive price incresed a little bit as my funds are now converted into Hive coin during the collapse in the Hive price I have bought all of my spare funds.

In the market you can see that the cards packs are not so much available in the market and the price f this beta mini set increases rapidly and it will increase to $5.25 after 6 packs are sold. The price will further increase to $7.75 after another 57 packs are sold. So, it was a great time for me to try my luck with these ESSENCE ORBS packs in the game with the opportunity of having some amazing beta cards.

But it is true that luck is not always so supportive in my case like this time. My luck was a devastating one for me in recent pack opening season that I have experienced recently. I love opening packs though it is often not rewarding at all but often it can make you smile. Like I am waiting for the conclave packs to be opened after all the promo summoners are released that will bring the opportunity to have more opportunities to have some amazing cards for my modern format battles.

The best card that I have pulled is an Epic card which is also in normal foil. And I have not pulled any gold foiled cards this time that made my investment into a bigger loss. Also, I got only the minimum number of Rare cards from these packs with all others are in common rarity.

Furthermore the single BCX of these cards can be sold in the market but the price is extremely lower that return me with around $2 according to the listing price which is a solid loss of 80% from my initial investment. So, this time my luck test from the old card packs is extremely loss outout but if you are lucky enough, maybe you can be super lucky.

So, my final conclusion is that it is not a good idea for a new players with limited funds to try these old packs at all except some packs can be treated as gambling with the knowledge that you going to loose your funds for 99.99% possibility. Otherwise it is better to current edition with higher return on investment and bigger chance of having some black foils and ARCHEON from the packs that can make you super lucky that any old pack can do. It is not a good option in a single sentence.
