My Modern Deck Building Strategy In Splinterlands
Hello, my lovely friends in the Splinterverse.
I hope everyone of you is having a great time in the Splinterlands. The Splinterlands is getting more excitement now as the new additions are happening here on a regular basis, and now the Frontier format has been started for the new players. This format provides some absolutely free rewards which are sellable and transferable. This is an amazing opportunity for the new players. Also, the weekly draws can be great with the possibility of winning some of the rarest card collections in the Splinterlands. This is a one-time opportunity for the players to have a chance to grab a Black Foil or Arcane cards from the draws.
In the modern league, I had m old cards from the Chaos Legion, and I skippd the rebellion edition but now I am accumulating from the Conclave Arcana edition for continuing the modern format as it gives the highest reward among all other formats. Today I am going to share my recent cards purchase and packs purchases for building my modern decks as my participation in the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! In my post I will try to share my thoughts on the debate whether to purchase cards packs or selective cards to make the best use of your funds for Splinterlands. I hope this will help you to decide which strategy is perfect for you.
Last time, I have bought 15 standard card packs that cost 60,000 DEC, which is approximately $48, and 25 starter packs that cost 25,000 DEC, which is approximately $20, according to the recent price of the DEC. So, my total purchase of the packs is almost $68-70, including the necessary potions to increase the possibility of pulling better cards. But my ROI was around $57-58 including the free Weagon reward. So, it was a loss for me as I have got any amazing pull from my cards opening.
So, that's why I prefer buying cards rather than packs, with my ongoing strategy to buy specific cards from the market as I have bought my first GF summoner from the market to have my summoners at the max level first before the other monsters. But it is also true that I love to open packs time to time to check my luck and if I get some amazing pull, then everything will be fine for me. In the following section, I am pointing out my current strategic thoughts in building powerful decks for the modern format.
My first priority is to buy specific cards which I will use most frequently, especially for the neutral and dragon team.
I will also buy card packs at a regular time frame to check my luck for having better cards from the opening packs that can change my portfolio within seconds.
Initially, I need a lot of commons cards to be able to play the modern format, and Conclave Arcana will last after the next card edition. So, I am buying more starter packs, which are also better for grabbing summoners. And in terms of value, they are returning the highest ROI than other standard packs in my overall experience.
In my calculation and strategy, I will roughly say 30-40% of my investment in opening packs and the rest I will use for direct card purchasing for my deck building. I will buy packs from the rewards that I am getting from writing Splinterlands blogs on a regular basis.
I think it is not a good idea to miss the opportunity to have some black foil or Arcana cards from the card pool, which I can never buy from the market, as they are extremely expensive!
In my Modern Summoners list, all of them are from the Conclave Arcana, and if I need others I am currently renting them for my battles as higher level summoners are must for doing well in the battles. I have one GF summoner from the Dragon team at level three and I will upgrade it to level 4 within a week as my first priority.
By opening packs and buying some individual summoners, I have two level two summoners from the Water and Life splinter and some are with multiple BCX but needs more for their first upgradation. I hope I will upgrade them to level four as soon as possible before I start buying the monsters cards.
In my legendary card collection, I have only two from the Conclave Arcana and other twos from the foundation cards. I still need to collect a lot from this category as Conclave Arcana has some amazing cards from the legendary rarity.
But luckily I have pulled more Epic cards from both the Conclave Arcana editions and the foundation cards. These are really so helpful cards for my modern format battles as I have not a lot of cards except the rewards cards that I am accumulating for the several months.
So, what is your plan regarding the modern decks in Splinterlands? Are you buying more card packs or more cards like me? Let us know in the comments. I am excited to grab some amazing cards from packs, and so I am going to be regular in opening card packs in Splinterlands until they end. But also I a buying more cards to make my decks stronger faster in a balanced way.
I hope you find some useful information in the post that will add more fun to your Splinterlands journey. If you have any questions, you can ask me in the comments. I will try to answer them as much as I can. Thanks a lot for your time and attention. I will catch you at the next one.
