Opening More Conclave Arcana Packs: Trying Lucks And Making Loss
Hello, my lovely friends in the Splinterverse.
I hope every one of you is having a great time in the Splinterlands with excitement and amusements with new cards and new strategies in the sphere. The Splinterlands game is becoming more exciting as new abilities with new strategies are coming to the Splinterverse regularly. Currently, I am building my modern decks to increase my potential winning ratio. As in the modern format, battles are becoming more stronger, I need the new cards to do battles with more wins. So, as my strategy that I have mentioned in my previous blogs, I am preparing for the modern decks.
As my strategy, I am buying some specific cards like I have bought a lot of summoners already to continue playing my modern battles. Also, I am buying more packs to try my luck in the game shop. Also, I am doing my analysis of the funds that I am investing there and comparing the return on investment from the cards that I have pulled from these packs. It is a loss project but I am hoping for some black foil or gold foiled cards or summoners that can instantly make up my all losses that I am facing now and in future if the losses are continued for a long time.
This time I have bought 16 starter packs for 16K DEC, and that costs about $10.176 according to the market price when I bought them. And as my return on investment I returned a value of $9.53 in terms of the cards that I have pulled according to the listing price. So, here I have made a loss of $0.64 which is not so high compare to the ROI from the standard packs that I will discuss in the following parargraph.
I have bought total 20 Standard packs from the in game shop and it costs around 80K DEC which is equivalent to $50.88 according to the price of DEC at time of my investment. I have opened these packs in 4 steps in a group of 5 packs. Besides, I have bought some necessary potions that cost another bucks making the total costs around $52 as my total investment in the standard packs.
After I have opened all the packs, I have checked the listing price of these cards in the Peakmonsters Explorer. It is around $34.66 as the return on investment in terms of cards values. So, here is a solid loss of around $17 bucks that is almost 33% of my total investment in the Standard card packs. But luckily I got a free wagon that is adding another $5.13 that is compensating some of my loss and the loss becomes 12 bucks that is reducing the loss to 25% from the 33%.
So, it was a loss for me but I will continue opening more packs to check my lucks. I have got several new legendary cards and a handful amount of gold foiled cards but most of them are commons and only one rare as I remember. I have pulled 4 legendary cards, 4 epic cards, 26 Rare cards including one gold foiled RARE card. And rest are common cards including 4 gold foiled among them. The total 25 packs opening screenshots are given below.

Putting money in splinterlands by gambling on packs just feels like a sure loss especially knowing what the cards values will be after they get dumped into wild eventually. I haven't seen anything that actually gets new players in the game as all that is done is just constantly pushing the bar further making it harder and harder. Good luck!
Yeah, I agree with you, it is an unending journey towards the bar. So, I skipped the rebellion edition, but I'm going for Conclave as it will be usable until the 2nd next card edition is added into the game. I don't invest too much and use more rewards cards, and common and rare cards. Though it results in a lower winning ratio, from an investment perspective, it is fine in my observation. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on it. Have a nice day.
