It makes a lot of sense actually:

Their friends, family and a lot of audience that would avoid registering in any other place that isn't Facebook are there. It doesn't come with the stress of having to post better things. It's very easy to access to non-tech people.

#FunFact: Facebook is free in some countries as in FB liks don't take any internet bandwidth quota.

A guy I knew on Facebook was too poor to pay for actual internet plan, but FB was free so he only communicated with me through messenger. That's a powerful feature.

Yeah, I told him so too, it was hard to give him links though, I had to take screenshots instead.

Sadly, I don't know where he is right now, he doesn't use Facebook anymore & I'm not active there even if he returned. (I only interacted with him through 2014 or was it 2015?)
