From A Power up Hater to a LPUD lover

I was never a big fan of powering ups my account.

Yes that is absolutely true and I saw no logic in powering up since it involves a lock in before one could get back the staked or powered up crypto by way of a power down.
I am just a simple guy who feels restless when tied down.
The idea of locking in funds by way of powering up made me uneasy.

The idea always made me feel cornered that my money would be locked and I would be stuck.

This is despite the fact that both hive and Leo the native token of leofinance.io are part of my long term crypto portfolio and I have so far never powered down my account.
Yet whenever it came to powering up I simply could not convince myself to do it.

Everyone wants to make it big right from day 1

Truth be told that all new entrants to the platform come with the idea to make it big.
Have a big fat wallet and lots of voting power.
A lot of us come to the platform with dreams of making some money here However if you are starting out and growing your account there is some work required in order for you yo grow your account from scratch.
However what can be a strategy to sustain yourself in the long run?

For me it all started with LPUD (Leo Power Up Day)

I was fascinated by all the big delegation prizes and hoped to win them some day.
This got me involved and I began to participate in every LPUD from there on.
Slowly my Leo Power LP began to grow and I began to enjoy the content I consumed.
As a result of this activity I started to up vote the posts that I liked. This meant that my curation rewards earned from up voting posts began to grow.
This made me look forward to the next LPUD and so far it has become a perpetual cycle.
In this cycle of events I create content the whole month in the hope of earning enough that I can buy Leo tokens to power up on LPUD.
Thus what had started as an exercise to see if I get lucky on a LPUD has become a never ending hunger for earning more curation rewards.

How this played out for me

If we compare the price of hive and leo then for every hive I spend I can get around 6 or more leo tokens that go towards my powering up on LPUD.
This keeps me motivated to create more posts.
I am also targeting to grow my hive power so that I get more curation rewards from hive curation as well.

The hunger for good content keeps me motivated

To curate content you need to find some good content that intellectually stimulates you and luckily on hive there are so many communities promoting good quality content.
Therefore finding and consuming content that is of high quality is not an issue.
The issue if it can be called so is having enough hive and leo power to curate.

What works for leo works for hive too

The curation reward earning principles work on hive and other community tokens as well. Thus by posting more often I am able to slowly grow my hive power too.
This would help me and anyone who wishes to take this path earn more leo as well as hive rewards which can be used for powering up.
This way more account power would result in better curation rewards.
If you are reading this post with the intent of growing your account then posting often and everyday curation is the way to go.
For me curation is the way to grow my knowledge by way of learning from other peoples experiences.

What is LPUD (in case you are new to leofinance.io )

LPUD or Leo Power up day is the 15th of every month that members of the leofinance.io community celebrate by powering up their accounts with leo tokens.
Leo is the native token of leofinance.io a front end of a layer 2 community built over the hive blockchain.
As a community it focuses on crypto, blockchain and financial content.

Final thoughts

leofinance.io are fine examples of functional web 3.0 platforms which is developed over a decentralized hive blockchain.
In this environment there is an opportunity for a user to tokenize his contet.
Therefore when a user creates and posts his content it gets views and consumed by other users of the platform.
Based on the number of likes a post generates the author or creator of the post is paid out in crypto.
So it is important to that a user

  • Create content
  • Interact with other people content and curate it
  • Be aware and participate in the power up days 1st of every mont h is the hive power up day and 15th of every month is the leo power up day (LPUD)
Ones you power up your voting power goes up and this means your curation reward earning goes up.
It is entirely up to a user as to how much he /she wants to power up.
This way there is almost endless possibility to power up and keep growing your curation rewards.

Thus this is a good, healthy and positive side effect of powering up your leo as well as hive account.

Whenever I am in this community, I love how I consume knowledge and learn from people through their posts. And yes, the curation reward gingers me to keep powering up by joining LPUD every month which helps my account to keep growing. I want to have lots of Hive and Leo power where I would have a bigger influence and a chance to earn curation rewards.

I agree that content care is very important for growth, and you can also learn many useful things.

By curating we also create interactions and network which is also useful for our posts.💪
