House Construction Series - August 20, 2026

Work has begone on a new house across the street.

Back in April, I shared an update on the house that was taken down to build a duplex income property. Have a quick peek at my last update where photos show the teardown in a 24 hour period.

Now we look at current photos. A few weeks ago, the city marked the water line to the building and painted markers on the asphalt where they will be some digging coming for Water and Sewer services. The water line comes in by the blue marker to the left of the fire hydrant.

I had noticed the the truck pull in and saw someone taking measurements and staking the property. My first clue that construction was just around the corner.

Taken from my driveway, I have a clear view of the backyard of houses that have never been visible from this perspective. It is going to be busy and interesting progress for a few months.

In the next photos we see the construction equipment arriving and starting to do the initial preparation for the new home.

It's garbage pickup day and street activity is picking up.

You can move a lot of dirt in a short period of time when you have good equipment and lots of experience. In the next photos you can see the soil preparation for the foundation form to come.

I decided to walk to the other side of the lot to get a perspective looking towards my home.
