RE: Grateful for Time with My Son

It's very common for children with new siblings to feel displaced. I don't remember that happening to me with my younger brother, but I sure hear about it a lot. What you said about it being good for children to handle doing nothing sometimes is spot on, as I know children who don't know how to do that, so they need to be constantly entertained by others. I think that your meeting your son's frustration very well indeed. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Entertainment is addictive, as if our brains don't know what to do while not being entertained. I suppose that explains streaming content 24/7. It's tempting sometimes to "plug in" our children to cartoons and games, but we have to resist that and limit that screen time. We notice that their behavior is much improved when we limit screen time and maximize staying close to daddy or mommy. !BBH

Indeed it is, and it's designed to be so. The whole entertainment 24/7 thing is just bread-and-circus distraction. Yep, it is easy to just put kids on screens to keep them busy, but it creates a growing separation in families. I've noticed that too, about behavior being better with less time on screens. You're got the right idea, Benjamin! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
