Be Your Own Cheerleader | Never Compare Yourself

One of the thing that trigger and put pressure on most people nowadays is when they start comparing themselves with people out there without knowing their full stories. Someone once said, "the act of comparison is an act of violence against oneself", there is something I do say to myself anytime I'm in a situation where I see others do things I couldn't do or when I see someone enjoy some lifestyles I wish I could enjoy, "I'm not in competition with anyone, I will be there one day".

It is better to be in competition with yourself and focus on how to become the best version of yourself. There is this adage that says, "any bird that compare itself with the vulture, will end up in a hot coal pot" the vulture is one powerful bird with a bald head and are scavengers, here in Nigeria (Yoruba), there are lot of folktales about the vulture and all.

In life, enough isn't enough, people wants are unlimited and we should understand that people are different from each other, so always wanting what others have is a silly act which we should always caution because the end product is unhappiness or even put u in a depress state, there is no joy in comparing yourself with others.

Not even in this generation that most of the thing we see are fake, most people are living fake lifestyles that they cant even afford on a normal day, so why the stress putting yourself under unnecessary pressure, just be grateful of what you have because the hidden truth is that you might even be better than those you are comparing yourself to. Be happy and focus on getting a better version of yourself.
