Drivers And Lack Of Patience | A Minor Accident

This past Saturday was one day I will not forget in a long while due to the fact it been long since I witness an accident and it really happened to a friend of mine and it could have be me instead. It been more than 3 weeks now since I left my house in lagos to visit my close friend in his cool where he is studying his master degree, I just need a change of environment and he was the available option. So on saturday which was the closing day for the undergraduates and since it is a christian based university, they had to do the last devotion that saturday morning while various cars where coming in to pick up their children and this cause a huge traffic.

We plan to visit the market that morning and according to our plan, when we returned, the traffic should have cleared or be on the other side of the road. so we left, brought 4k fuel in the car, even though the market wasn't that far, we spend 2hours since we went too early and need to wait for some market women to open their store. So on our way back we still met the traffic and it was very long right from the school gate, so we had to join them and we were moving small small like every 2mins, it was really long that I started feeling somehow since the weather was hot, parents in the cars started complaining the school should be doing the last devotion a day before so they can easily come to pick up their children and the funniest part was there are lot of space where they can easily pack and probably instruct their children to just met them there so they can easily pick them up but no, Nigerians parent don't think like that at times...

So while moving, we already spent an hour in just 10mins journey, it was really bad to the extend that some vehicles developed fault and some their fuel finished on the way. unfortunately, my car petrol finished, couldn't do anything that to push it to the other safe lane, park it there so I can get fuel in the university fuel station which was really far from where we are. My friend came down to push the car while i put it in neutral and take charge of the wheel. Other vehicles couldn't stop even in the traffic and my friend got hit in the process, it wasn't that much buy he lost his little toes nail and one part of his big toe peel off, I didn't even notice on time, just saw him limping so we had to take him to a place to apply first aid before taking him to the school clinic. The impatience man couldn't go anywhere and he would have avoid that incident if he is patience enough for us to move our car away from the road, we just let him go after he took my friend to the clinic.

Driving on the road really need lot of patience, it might not be easy but it always prevent a lot of "Had I Know" situations.
