The New Card Search Option | Trying Out A New Backfire Strategy

Who else have been enjoying the new simplicity that came with the splinterlands recent update, this is really cool and more user friendly. I still remember how the last interface was and how i have to start scrolling though my monster's collection element by element just to locate some certain cards names or trying to figure out which set they belong to and most times I always have to login to peakmonster or splintercards website just to figure them out. I have always hope that one day things will be way easier to do with the main splinterlands game site than to make use of external site for simple tasks but the recent update really blow my mind off

Checking the left hand side, we now have a section both in the item page and also the market page where you can easily search any monster you want by their name, card sets, foil, rarity and so on, this will breakdown these cards into their main section. I came across a battle this week that I do love to share, it really show how powerful backfire ability is when paired with enough speed or when you sense your opponent will be using monster cards with low speed in battle, how can you do that. There are some little information give to you during every battle which is always at the top of the match details after seeking enemy during rank battles, this part always show your opponent recent played teams, most times in very battle i always check this out to have idea on what to play or which element I will be going for.

Apparently, I was able to check out my opponent last battles and knew some certain details with some of the monster card he use due to their low speed stats and looking at this battle criteria given, I had this kind of feeling that he will use the same element in this battle so I decided to use something different from my normal setup since the battle allow use to pick from fire, water and life element with 52 mana capped and also the Stampede which give monster with the trample ability the power to do multipe damage anytime they destroy an opponent monster cards and also the Taking sides rules set which remove neutral cards from the battle.

First thing I did, was to go for the water element because of the stampede ruleset and also make use of Aquatus with the backfire ability as my summoner and also picked

Lvl 8 Diemonshark as my frontline, with the level 8, it contain 3 abilities that are very useful and make it good for that position, first is the trample ability which work in line with the stampede ruleset and anytime it destory a card it can always do more attack, the Enrage ability which make it increase the melee and speed stats when damage and also the retaliate ability that give it the chance to deal damage back to any melee attacker lastly is the extra backfire that deal two damage to any cards that fail to attack it.

Since I knew I want my opponent to see the power of backfire, I figure out I should use one of the ability named blind, I had to picked **flying squid** for this option since it also have the reach ability which will allow it to attack from the second position while the blind ability will increase the chance of this card evading attack from my opponent melee and range cards.

using **deepluker** in battle is always one of the good option I have, been at level 6 gave it enough attacking stats and also make it stronger with the opportunity ability which allow it to attack from any position and also target monster with the low health, also is the poison ability which when applied on the target, give it extra damage every round. This will make me destroy his cards way faster and easier.

How amazing will a battle be without inserting Djinn Oshannus as part of your setup, the abilities that came with it as a lvl 3 card make it outstanding and also useful in countering magic cards due to the phase ability which allow magic cards to miss their attack, the void reduce magic damage while forcefield take only 1 damage from any card with 5+ attack, this make it look cool and very useful in this particular battle

I rarely make use of Nerrissa Tridawn in battle because of the high mana cap and it has no ability even though having 4 attack and enough health make it really worthy and good enough to be use in battle but once in a while, I do bring it on board if the mana capped given is big enough to allow it.

Lastly is swamp spitter which is now turning to one of my fav range card because of the repair ability which repair back some amour to the monster cards that took the most damage. I do make use of this card ability in some specific battle and it always work really well unless it got destroyed quickly in battle

The battle actually went the way i predict it especially with the monster cards with low speed that he brought on board which even give my major backfire strategy more advantage over him since I majorly use abilities that will make his cards miss their attacks. I was able to defeat him with just one of my cards getting destroyed while others were still standing strong.
