The Piercing Power | Grum Flameblade Saving The Day

There are some amazing ability to put into consideration especially in some certain rulesets and as a newbie in the splinterlands world, it is a good thing to know your abilities and the exact time to make use of them. when picking up your line up, things might be choking a little bit because there are many monster cards with different abilities to select from, most times I'm also confused too, I don't always know what to pick up from my collections and most times I have to go with my instincts, someone once ask me how to go about things when it come to selecting his lineup and I had to explain to him in my own best knowledge.

Let take a look at the ability I picked up for this week which is the piercing ability, what is the main work? whenever your melee and range card with this ability dealt damage to a particular card with amour, and the damage is in excess (like more than the amour), the remaining damage will be taking from the monster health, which means if the target card have 3 amour and the incoming damage is +5, the remain 2 incoming damage will affect the monster health. There are many monster cards with this particular ability but most are based on their levels and above all we have two summoners with this particular ability but it is only limited to a particular element which is the fire element.

based on the image above from splintercards, this are the major cards with the piercing ability and we have two summoners from the fire element which is the Qid Yuff a 3 mana capped card with only piercing and Conqueror Jacek which is 6 mana capped with other abilities which is 2 speed and scattershot.

The Ruleset Fit To Use This Ability

When selecting this ability, it is best fit for some kind of rule set and this is based on what I have seen so far and also what most of my opponent tend to use in battle. During the Up close and personal ruleset which only allow melee cards on board, among all other abilities that is important in this rules, most users make sure they use enough amour to back up their cards since melee cant attack health directly, this make them even stronger especially if you aren't using amour which put you at a disadvantage, using Piercing coupled with Shield, Retaliate, Thorns, Reach, Sneak, Opportunity can really give you that upper hand. This also is applicable to Weak Magic ruleset which allow magic attacks to hit amour before reducing Health. Let take a look at one of my battles with the piercing ability as the main target.

This simple battle is to showcase how wonderful this piercing ability it in some certain battle how it can clear a whole formation with weak health and amour, I had this battle with fkingfab in a 24 mana capped match with the super sneak which give all melee attack the sneak ability, Taking sides which prevent users from using neutral cards in battle and also Tis but Scratches which give all cards the cripple ability and we can make use of all element except death and dragon. my major selection was based on the super sneak ability and based on what I have seen so far, players love using melee cards in this kind of rules set and most of their cards always have the thorn ability to give them upper hand in battle based on this details and also the small mana capped given, I decided to use my strong cards with enough attacks incase of anything coming so I picked Qid Yuff as my summoner to give them the piercing ability and also

Forgotten One which is a one of the 9 mana capped fire cards with enough start and also had immune with retaliate with extra piercing, sneak and cripple ability, then 1mana flame monkey with the repair ability as a melee card just to repair the most damage to the amour and lastly is Grum flameblade which is one strong cards with the bloodlust ability even though the 1speed do put it at a disadvantage at times but this cards is still powerful and always useful in some battles. Even though my formation is just 3, I knew within me they will really stand strong in the battle

My opponent really surprised me by not using enough melee cards in this battle but instead he came in with plenty magic cards which means he neglect the super sneak rule set and decided to go with the remaining rule, this gave me some doubt at first but after watching the battle, I was lucky enough to have make use of Grum which save the day.
