The Price of Ignorance: Why Free Education Still Matters

One thing a nigerian would truly love and really appreciate is a free education because it is seen as a force which can change a human life, the rate at which we have the uneducated people in Nigeria is really alarming and it is because not everyone can afford the fee when it comes to training themselves or their children to school. At some point, I thought there was free education in those days but somehow we don't know what happen to the free education. Nigerians are really struggling, they hardly eat 3 square meals and as a child school is really compulsory even if it is just to the secondary level. I really can't count the numbers of children that aren't privilege enough to be in school, they are either hawking one thing or the other or wandering aimlessly, based on research almost 11m children aren't in school which is really too much.
I wish people have access to free education even up to the university level because it has more benefits to them on a long run especially when it comes to reducing poverty, well currently we have high numbers of unemployed individual which at times discourage people from even pursuing further education and just use the fund to establish themselves but as an educated fellow, you have what it takes to navigate through life, with your knowledge in school, you can easily diversify into other fields, be able to recognize and grab online opportunities.
Thanks to free education in the olden days, who know how gender equality would have evolved, back then men believe ladies whole life should be in the kitchen so they never agree to sending them to school, they thought what is the usefulness and according to them, they can't be successful like men and it will just be a waste of time and money until the educated ones start taking charge, women have equal access to education like men even some are more successful than man and hold good position in the society, I just can't imagine how sad a household full of ladies will be back in the days and not just that, the health aspect was a mess, since everything is traditional based, lack of education really did a thing to them, once you have a critical illness that local herbs can't solve, you are left to die until the educated ones start taking charge and turning things around.
I still wish education were free but somehow due to bad leadership, they are using it as a weapon against the less privileged ones, if everyone is educated enough, who will act as a tout for them, who will be their underdogs, disorganize polling unit, who will they deceive with two cups of rice just to buy their vote, the country will surely be in a better places if everyone have access to free education in the first place but it is what it is, they know what they are doing

Free education reduces all sort of misconduct happening in our society and it encourage children and parents.
Nice points 👍
If education is free almost everyone has access to it and it keeps people busy, there by reducing children indulging in the wrong acts to the barest minimum.
