There used to be snowy places in my life as well - today, only rarely. Perhaps because I was born in summer, I’m more drawn to warmth. To the south. As you so aptly put it, the spirit of the seasons and the temperatures do take some getting used to.

My real Christmas gift, however, was a new realization: through death and birth, the size of our family hasn’t diminished. And since the younger generation has grown, the conversations have become more modern and lively - which feels both good and hopeful.
