Best Performing Asset

This month it may be a different asset. Not your typical asset or Bitcoin. But that of a Pokemon card. Having been into Pokemon cards before I have some understanding and appreciation of this.

Pictured here is a graded one. They were not worth much earlier this year. Recently an X account by the name of Kabuto King started buying them up. Created a meme coin about and for buying them. Which created an interesting thing. These cards are some what scarce in the first place. Then when someone started buying them up, the market took notice and started pricing them higher! This shows the very basic idea of supply and demand.

First-edition Kabuto cards from the Fossil set are considered more valuable than unlimited prints. As of writing, ungraded copies are valued around $2.71 on the secondary market, while PSA-graded cards above a 7 typically sell for more than $10. PSA 10s are worth about $85 each

Don't know of the actual print runs from back then. The CGC Cards’ Population Report shows 1,380 graded copies of the Kabuto card. This shows that there are many more out there.

Makes for the possibility of picking a card and creating a hoard and tokenizing it! An interesting prospect. These are scarcer than Bitcoin after all.
