I can finally relax

DSC01758.jpg

Hello there!

It's been a week full of events. In addition to the work for which I am paid, I had a long todo list - calls and visits. It's finally Saturday, my day off that I plan to spend relaxing and home.

Yesterday ended with intriguing news from Russia, at night I heard the sounds of explosions again in my sleep, and unfortunately, fragments of a shot down rocket fell on one of the residential buildings in Kyiv. So, in the morning, my first thought was - "What's up?"

DSC01762.jpg

My morning has not brought so many emotions, news and memes for a long time. This one I like the most: "I have to pay tribute to the General Staff. The counterattack really started in an unexpected place.".😁

Ukrainians are highly creative, they produce brilliant jokes and memes, and they help us to overcome uncertainty and stress.

Prigozhin to Zaluzhny: "Where's the ammunition?"

Finally, Prigozhin received shells from Shoigu.

"Ukraine is not satisfied with the pace of the counteroffensive of Wagner PVK".

Russian army. 2021 - second in the world. 2022 - the second in Ukraine. 2023 - the second in Russia.

Let's get popcorn and watch. Actually, I am going to make varenyky (dumplings) with cottage cheese and watch the news today. With one of the summer drinks I like - "Potro-tonic" 😉🍹

New "family member"

Truth to be said, this small stuff is what has brought great relief to me.

Yeap, I installed security equipment yesterday in my flat, so my place is under protection. It was not literally me. A guy from the security company came here and did all the job, from the label on my door saying that this premise is under protection, to a mobile app on my phone where I can do and see all everything.

The equipment is made by "Ajax Systems" - this is a Ukrainian company that started its business in 2011 and not they sale in 120+ countries. They are really popular here. By the way, they delivered a solution that protects Bansky's graffiti in Ukraine.

Now I don't afraid to leave the house, and not only on urgent business.

Saturday-Caturday

A red grouchy cat lives in my neighborhood. My windows are always open, and for the third day in a row I have listened to his complaints. His intonation leaves no doubt that he is complaining about something.

But the cat in the first and second shots is not like that. He was very friendly and sweet. But the most surprising was to meet him by the abandoned house. Judging by its color and the shape of the ears, it is not an ordinary outdoor cat. This is an expensive breed. And I met him relaxing at the entrance of this house:

DSC01763.jpg

Obviously, it is abandoned but ... looks not like the abandoned buildings I used to see. The door is opened but there were no signs of anyone having spent the night here or ... you know, using alcohol or drugs. It still looks very homely and clean. I didn't take pictures inside as in was too dark.

This is how it looks from the main road:

DSC01756.jpg

Gorgeous but abandoned beauty. I took these pictures in a small mountain town I visited about a month ago. There were many abandoned houses that were really beautiful on their times. I wish I could buy them and turn into a charming summer house... ❤️

Scrolling through memories

One of those days started with a beautiful view from the window of a room we rented with my daughter. Rain has stopped and the sun appeared. A perfect day for a walk.

A few funny fundings I made during the walk. A funny plaque on the fence of the mansions, warns that "In real life, the lace is much longer." It was about a dog tied up in the yard. By the way, I wonder if there is still such an "alarm" in your country?

DSC01659.jpg

In Ukrainian villages, guard dogs usually live in a closed aviary or in a dog house out in the yard, to which they are tied on a long cord or chain. The length of the cord is usually such that a guest can pass without the dog reaching him. So the point is that the dog barks loudly when the stranger approaches.

Another nice find is this small toy house on the electric pole. It is made with love, and has many cute details.

Let me take you to the shadow of trees

More than beaches in Spain and the narrow streets of Italy, I miss Ukrainian Carpathians. Unlike me, my friend from Odesa traveled all around the world. She's been to so many mountains and woods, and she says that there is no place like our Carpathians.❤️ I can only agree with her.

Let's stop here for a moment. What do you think you see in the picture? Benches, a table and ... a passage. It is called "perelaz" in Ukrainian, from the "climb over".

In Carpathian villages the usual fence is made of thin logs, large thick branches. Its purpose is to protect from domestic animals - goats, cows or horses, and mark boundaries. To let go through someone's land they make a passage - usually two boards on either side of a wooden fence. One end is on the ground, and the other rests on a horizontal log of the fence.

In real life the lace is much longer. That cracked me up so much. What a cryptic but powerfully packed warning. You seem more at rest and relived than before and I'm so happy you feel better about leaving your house now.
A summer house sounds quite lovely indeed. So glad you could share these beautiful memories.🤗

Omg @zirochka what gorgeous buildings, and stuff and the cat with no ears lol

Let’s be honest, at the end of the day Putin is just sucking the cock of Prigozhin, couple of gay boys really

Great news from Russia today. Wagnerovci fighting Kadyrovci. No matter what the result will be, it´s surely another nail for Putin´s coffin ;)

Wonderful news, I agree. And must admit that I am satisfied with any result 😉

Too bad Prigozhin chickened out so soon, the "coup" could have lasted at least a bit longer. But I guess even those few hours was a welcomed bonus for the Ukrainian Army to have some rest, regroup forces etc ;)

I assume that that was the end of the first act and the play will continue. But yes, I hope that our forces didn't waste this chance 😉

Right. You know, the war has been very closely watched in our media, we were occupied by the Russians too in the past so it´s still a very sensitive topic here so the war reports make a great portion of the news here in the media every day. So I already knew about the fact that the individual fractions and various military groups fighting against Ukraine have some arguments and internal fights among themselves, which is why we were not so surprised to see this kind of "revolt" and as you say, it´s quite likely that this trend continues. Whatever weakens Putin´s army and his regime counts ;) Fingers crossed for you guys.

Sláva Ukrajině!

Czechs remember their history well. Unlike the Hungarians, for instance.

Yes, in Russia there are conflicts between the Ministry of Defense and various military groups. But I can't shake the feeling that it wasn't what it seemed to be (or supposed to be) and we'll see the full picture later.

You know, I watched BBC yesterday, and one of the speakers said that he believes that these are probably the last weeks of this war. And it was like.... a miracle 🙂 I imagined it for a moment. And now we are back to uncertainty. But still, at least something is happening. I pray every night for our guys to win all battles and come back alive.

Thank you SO MUCH for your comments and for all support you show to all Ukrainians 💙💛

I'm very glad you got a security system installed in your apartment and have a little peace of mind while you're away now. That countryside is just gorgeous. My great-grandfather may've walked that very same land before he immigrated to America.

The recent events in Russia this weekend have been interesting. There are so many questions about the agreement Putin made with Prigozhin to end the Wagner group's march to Moscow. All that aside, it's more and more apparent that there are many cracks are forming in Putin's power. I don't think it will be long now until support for the war within Russia evaporates and peace is restored.

I wish you and your family a good and peaceful week!

I am always late, but, like to take my time perusing your post. The cat is making the best of life and I agree, he is surely a cut above the rest.

So glad you got a security system. Anyone who wants in will always find a way, but, a little deterrent goes a long way. I can see you enjoyed a lovely time wandering through the forest, the Carpathians are incredibly beautiful. So glad you got to take the time to smell the roses.

I was so delighted about the news from Russia! Any movement towards that was better than none.

Love to you!

The security company claims that they arrive at the secured object 3-5-7 minutes after the invasion. I don't know if that's the case, and I'd rather not have a chance to check it out ))

Any movement towards that was better than none.

This is what I keep saying.

Thank you for checking my post, dear, and wish you and your family a good weekend!
