Some questions - tapping the Hive intelligence

Dear Hiveans,

As I am just writing a longer post, I would like to format it appealingly.
Can you recommend an article on "how to format Hive posts"?
Specific questions:

  • How do I underline a heading?
  • I'd like to arrange a picture on the left, and some text on the right. How can I do that? By creating 2 columns? How?
  • Is it possible within a bullet point to create a table with 2 columns?
  • How can I colour text?

And another question: do you know a good description of the HBD-mechanism (how is the peg of the HBD to the USD ensured) and share a link?

Any help is highly appreciated.

By creating 2 columns? How?

I have never done a post that way, but I see some bilingual posts in that 2 columns format. Hope someone will bring the help :)

Peakd.com kennst Du sicherlich schon.

Ansonsten wirst Du wohl einen HTML Editor gebrauchen müssen. Mir ist aufgefallen, dass viel über HTML Codes läuft.

Welche das nun genau sind, weiss ich nicht.

Bei den Überschriften zum Beispiel gilt H1 bis H5 hier - in die < und > eingefasst. Geht aber bei peakd auch über die Editor.

Wie die Überschrifte - die Headline eines Artikels verändert werden kann weiss ich nicht.

Wahrscheinlich ging das schon immer. Mir hat das vor langer Zeit @ennosan gezeigt. Er sagte, dass nur rot geht. Ich habe es später mit dem HTML-Tag für Textfarben (ist ein anderer) versucht und es ging nicht.

das ist ja mal eine Überraschung, die Rückkehr des verlorenen Sohnes! Herzlich willkommen zurück nach langer Zeit! Hast du deinen dritten Account, den auf Blurt, noch nicht gecheckt? Das war die 2. Hardfork im Juli 2020.

Dass der HIVE bei 0,80 € steht und damit ausnahmsweise höher als der STEEM (fast um die Hälfte), hast vielleicht schon bemerkt. Dafür steht aber der SBD mit 6,68 € fast 8x so hoch wie der HBD mit 0,845 €. Und bei Blurt gibt's nur den BLURT und keinen stable coin.

Später oder morgen mehr, da ich mit dem Erstellen meines wöchentlichen Geografiequizes (auf allen 3 Blockchains) schon sehr spät dran bin. Es würde mich natürlich sehr freuen, dich beim Quiz begrüßen zu können! Er ist allerdings ganz schön schwer.

I don't know much about markdown styling. I think some other users have already guide you well.

The quotes grabbed my attention the most in this post especially the first and the last one. The idea of creating music with words by changing its lenth is amazing, isn't it. There is a need to practice it. It is attainable and applicable. Rythms can only be created when there is a variation. Variation in length and pitch.

I see people shared a couple good formatting links. Most Hive front ends primarily utilize the “markdown” language for formatting, so finding general tutorials on that are largely applicable even if they’re not Hive specific.

The price of HBD is essentially just determined by the free market, however it is now designed to stay very close to $1 USD. There has always been a “downside” peg because from the beginning there was a mechanism in the base layer of the blockchain that allowed 1 HBD to be converted to $1 USD worth of Hive. Obviously when HBD strayed too low people could buy it up, convert it to $1 worth of Hive and profit off the difference!

With the most recent hardfork there is now also a mechanism to convert Hive to HBD, so with conversions in place both ways there is now also an upside peg due to the arbitrage opportunities it creates. If HBD trades up to $2 people will be waiting to convert $1 of Hive for $2 worth of HBD and sell!

So, since the blockchain defines HBD as always being worth $1 USD, market forces keep it pegged there. Every witness maintains a “price feed” showing the current market price of Hive, and that information is utilized in the conversion process.

Short answer; the code of the blockchain always values 1 HBD as $1 USD. Because anyone can freely swap between the two currencies, any deviation from $1 in the market creates a profitable arbitrage opportunity which brings HBD back to the peg when taken advantage of!
