The Machine NBA2K25 Career Pt. 19 + 🌎My Thoughts on the Sports World Today🌎
December 3rd, 2024 - Philadelphia 76ers @ Charlotte Hornets
The Machine and the 76ers began the month of December on a high note with a pretty easy victory vs LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets. The Machine is still struggling from a scoring standpoint, but he's still solid at an overall perspective, and he did score pretty efficiently on this night, ending the game shotting fifty percent from the field. He will keep grinding and evolving! He finished with:
- 7 Points, 5 Rebounds, 7 Assists
- A+ Teammate Grade
🌎My Thoughts on the Sports World Today🌎
In the real world, UFC 318 didn't go as planned for Dustin Poirier in his fight versus Max Holloway but it was still a pretty fun fight throughout! Both of those guys are the cream of the crop both in the cage and out of it. Max handled his victory with class and New Orleans really treated Dustin like the legend he is in his final fight. If I remember right, Max dropped Dustin twice and Dustin got a nice knockdown himself and had a solid chance at getting the finish at one point. Still Max was the better fighter and looks like he belongs at lightweight. All in all it was one of the most wholesome UFC events ever. What a night! I am looking forward to seeing Max's next fight and I hope to see Dustin cover the sport as an analyst. Dustin may have lost, but he will always be 2-1 vs Holloway, which is still pretty cool.
In the NBA world, I saw Chris Paul is joining the Los Angeles Clippers once again. The Clippers are really quietly building a lethal looking roster honestly. They seem incredibly deep. For Chris Paul he's definitely not the same guy he was in his prime, but he still offers a great combo of intelligence, wisdom and skill as a player. People like to joke that Paul doesn't have a ring but I think he still has a pretty excellent legacy. He did make it to the Finals once and has an absurd amount of stats and other awards. Also, IF he managed to get a ring with the Clippers, a team he spent six years with once upon a time, it would do wonders for his legacy. Clippers fans everywhere would also have to be excited. When this season ends, Paul will have been a Clipper longer than he was a member of any other team. In a perfect world from Paul's perspective, getting his one and only ring with the Clippers would be pretty sweet. The Clippers feel like an elite underdog team right now, and if the Sixers can't win it all, I am intrigued to see what type of noise this Clippers team could make.
The sports world never sleeps, till next time!
This is correct. On the one where Dustin dropped Max it was pretty amazing how fast Max recovered though and he was quick to dodge the follow up strikes that came after. It was really a back and forth fight with a lot of strategy and it could have gone either way for a lot of the entire fight. That was one of the best matches I have ever seen. I agree that Max handled the victory with absolute grace and he scored a lot of points with me because of that.
that videogame looks pretty old school. Not long ago a friend of mine tried to intro me to NBA 2K25 on his playstation and I gotta say that the games are a lot more complicated than how I remember from my youth. They are too involved and complicated for me to get into them very much.
Yes Dustin had a glimmer of hope, but Max proved his durability is much better at lightweight especially since he's added healthy bulk to his frame! It was an intense 20 seconds or so for Dustin there, almost had the gilly! It's like those two were meant to fight I swear, it's a privilege to be alive during their trilogy! I loved how Max told the crowd to not be so down after Dustin's loss! I agree that was definitely one of the best MMA fights ever.
Yeah I'm playing NBA2K25 on PS4 so the graphics and some other features aren't exactly cutting edge I guess you could say, and yeah these newer 2Ks are pretty in depth hahaha. Definitely a lot of time and effort to get your player to where you want him. But yes I loved these games since I was in high school, they are the best career modes I am aware of in sports games. Haven't played a 2k since like maybe NBA2K21 so I'm just enjoying it the best I can!
I remember being a bit unhappy that Poirier went for the clinch during the final 10 seconds but he just did and interview and was asked why he did that and his response was "I didn't want to go out like Gaethje" lol. He knew he would not emerge victorious in such an exchange. Max has truly gotten new life breathed into his career. A year ago I would have said that Holloway was definitely on the way out. Can he win it all? No, I don't think so, but he is definitely one of the more exciting fighters active right now.
I think the last basketball game I enjoyed was 2021 or 2022 and the only reason why I enjoyed that was because I was playing locally with some friends and none of us knew wht the hell we were doing. One of our friends would constantly get the buttons mixed up and would be throwing up half court shots on a regular basis.
When I was playing 2025 the other day it found it difficult to so much as even get inside the pain. As a person whose first bball game was "Double Dribble" I don't really have the patience necessary to master all the buttons or deal with very real things like not being able to just run right through whoever is guarding you.
Yes that's true, I found it entertaining when Topuria invited Holloway to trade right at the opening bell in their fight lol. But yeah I think Max still has some good years in him for sure. I don't imagine Topuria stays in the UFC long, I imagine he might pull a Khabib and leave if he can manage to stay undefeated. If so maybe Max has a title run in him who knows.
Yeah 2k games can be pretty frustrating at times! Haha. But you get used to it after awhile. Some people use the right stick for shooting and dribbling but I don't do all of that I just run around and press square and time the shot release lol. Definitely tricky, but it becomes fun eventually.
