Hello hivers. I hope you're all doing good.
Looking back at those times when all I think about is to play and eat😬. No bills to pay just play and have fun. I remember playing with paper dolls that my older sister draw and cut for me. I would design clothes and gown for them and even compete with my other siblings. We would send our paper dolls to school and join different contest mostly beauty contest and see who will win the best in gown😂. @lhes would be our judge in choosing the winner. I also have a rag doll that my aunt gave to me when her daughter grow up to a young lady and don't want to play anymore. This rag doll she made herself for she was a seamstress back then. This doll became my favourite to play and I even try to make one for my sis so she can play with me. Remembering the doll I made for her back then makes me smile. Its not nice and the stitches are terrible. I just cut a human shape cloth, stock it with cotton wool and draw the face. Still we're happy with it😂.

Some of my daughter's doll that she played back then. During our days my mother bought us one of this kind also. For me and my sister. She even sewed a nice dress for my doll. Sadly when I send it to school outside our house during playtime one of our dog took interest in it and carried it away. When I came to fetch it I cannot find it where I placed it before. I tried to look around and search our surroundings. Luckily I found it with the dog before It was completely chewed up. I'm so sad that time when I saw the bite marks on its hand. I still played with it and hide those marks with long sleeves blouses. Though it took a long time before I totally moved on and accepted those scars. Because of that incident I transfered it to another school inside the house to prevent another accident to happen😂.
At school I played Chinese garter with my friends. To make the elastic stronger we used rubber band tied together. The one we used in Chinese garter is not that strong and imagine the pain when it suddenly snap while someone is jumping on it. I'm so scared of that thought coz I experienced it once that's why I preferred to used the rubber band to be safe.😁.

This is the rubber band I tied together to show a photo😂. The one were using to place Chinese garter is way much longer compared to this. My brother would took some of my rubber band secretly to play other games with his friends. I would only notice it when my friends and I play and the thing becomes shorter. Of course he wouldn't admit whenever I confronted him.
Looking back at those times now bring back those happy memories and can't help but smile😁😂.
My participation for this week prompt.
Tell us about simple childhood toys.
What were some of the toys you played with?
Its just some of the memories about my childhood toys.

Oh these were the goid old days. No worries like work and paying bills. Only worry was your siblings taking or using your stuff than messing it up. Guilty as charged i was involved a time or two, hehe.

Paper doll contests sounds like some stiff competition. Since @lhes was the judge did you ever win via bribery or being super nice to her? 🤣

My toys were G.I. Joe's, Star Wars, and any other boy toys at the time. Did make mini hand sized wooden cars and race them, a trait I picked up in the boy scouts.

Take care

I always win in the contest. I think I designed fabulous gowns before😛.
I think brothers are designed to annoy us in any way possible😁.

Haha somehow I think there's something your not mentioning. Well the opposite sex siblings just provide a pestering love for each when younger 🤪

The more you quarrel with each other during childhood, the closer you would become while growing up😛.

Lovely memories about child hood. Something which we miss a lot and which today's children don't experience.

Oh rubber bands we would use at school to ping at each other lol and it hurt, you would go right up behind someone and get their neck haha little shits we were. Dolls are great but yes having a dog you know there will be some collateral damage! I am sure @lhes would have hidden some... lol I am teasing

Nice that already as child you were so creative and designed clothes and gowns for your dolls. Did you also make the cloths of the dolls in the pictures in this post?

Life was so much simpler back then, and we knew how to have fun, unlike today's children who are forever wanting new electronic gadgets!
I loved playing with paper dolls, and I also remember playing a game with elastic (not speaking of how the boys liked stinging each other with those elastic bands😉

We were happy and content back then. Those dirty clothes and burned skin after playing outside even in the middle of the day.
Boys in my era also do the same with those elastic. Lucky I wasn't hit by it before😁😬

Oh, if that's the case then I would report it to my father. They would be lucky if they didn't get beaten 😂. That's why they wouldn't dare😁.
