Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge — My Top Pick from the Conclave Arcana: Why This Card Wins
HELLO to all Splinterlands readers of my humble blog.👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 Welcome to yet another week of the "new" iteration of the Splinterlands Weekly Challenges 😜. The "old" Battle Challenges are now a thing of the past (at least for now?) and they have been replaced with this week's "Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Conclave Favorites".
For any old Hivers/Splinterlands players who've just come back and are confused, fret not! Even with the name and format tweaks, right at it's core, battles are still the foundation of these posts.
In this week's edition of my Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Conclave Favorites, I will do something drastically different from my usual battle showcases. Instead of war, I will become a peaceful teacher showing all new players how to most effectively navigate the topic of "Conclave Favorites".
Hey fellow Summoners! I’ve been poking around the Conclave Arcana drops for quite awhile now, and as part of this week’s Community Engagement Challenge the theme is: Share your favourite Conclave Arcana card and tell us why it stands out! So strap in folks, because I’m about to highlight my personal pick, dig into what makes it shine (art, lore, strategy, you name it 😜), and show how it plugs into the evolving meta of Splinterlands.
That being said, here's some tips and tricks from Yours Truly which will hopefully help any new player who comes across this guide. Read on to find out more! 😜

No matter! I present to you — Conclave Favorites.
So without further ado, let me introduce how best to navigate this seemingly impossible task to you! 🎉

⚔️🛡️ My Top Pick from the Conclave Arcana: Why This Card Wins 🛡️⚔️

With all that being said, here is how I would advice ALL players on how you can capitalize on some of these simple strategies!
🔍 Why This Card Matters
Bloodline & Archon synergy are game changing – The Conclave Arcana set introduced the new idea of bloodlines (for Archons) and monsters that can benefit when you build around those shared traits. My pick gets a huge bonus here — I’ll explain how in a moment.
Fresh abilities reshape strategies – This set didn’t just add cards, it added new abilities. My favourite uses at least one of these to shine.
Meta shift means opportunity – With the Modern format now involving Rebellion and Conclave Arcana (and older sets being nudged out), there’s fresh space for cards to prove themselves and for new players to make waves.
Personal style counts – For me, a card isn’t just about “good stats” — it’s about the art I love, a build I can see myself using, and a moment when it “clicked” in battle. That emotional hook? It makes all the difference.

“It wears your face. It speaks with your voice. And when it claims its next victim, it’ll eat them with your mouth.”
Portia Nyr summoned Gramel the Hunger and its arcane skinwalkers from the Plane of Chaos to serve the Conclave Arcana. But in her boundless ambition and pride, she mistook dominion for submission.
The Hunger was never meant to serve. In the ever-writhing hellscape of its domain, it’s a king of kings, sovereign of suffering, glutton of identity. It devours its victims face-first and screaming, feasting on flesh and remembrance. Their forms, their memories, their very selves become the Hunger’s.
And now, it walks the Splinterlands, shackled by the magic of Portia Nyr.

🃏 My Favourite Card: Let’s Talk Gramel The Hunger
(Yes, I’m going with Gramel The Hunger 😍 — the legendary from Conclave Arcana.)
- Why I love the art & lore
Gramel’s artwork grabs you: this multi-attack monster sporting all three attack types (melee, ranged, magic) just screams “versatile jaguar on cyber steroids”. There’s a swagger to it that I connect with — when I pick this card, I feel like I’m saying “I’ll handle whatever you throw at me”.
- Strategic impact
Because Gramel can use all three types of attack, he becomes a wildcard in team builds. If you face an enemy team stacked for defence vs one type (say ranged), Gramel can pivot and still hit magic or melee. In a meta where opponent patterns are more predictable, having a wildcard is gold.
- How I’ve used it
I ran a battle where the opposing tank was vulnerable to magic, but the rest of their lineup was built to shut down magic damage. I slid Gramel into the second or third position behind a sturdy tank, and watched as he bypassed the shields meant for magic only and picked off units via ranged and melee swings. That “flex attack” surprised my opponent and swung the momentum.
- Why it fits the Conclave Arcana theme
Gramel embodies the "new era" spirit: leveraging the bloodline/Archon mechanics (you’ll want an Archon whose bloodline matches) and taking full advantage of the flexibility those new abilities bring. Yes, you might pay more mana or investment, but the payoff is there if you build smart.
📌 Pro-Tips If You Want to Use It
Pair Gramel with an Archon that shares his bloodline (or boosts mixed attack monsters) so you maximise the synergy.
Don’t throw him out first as tank unless your build expects him to take hits. His strength is in transition and clean up rather than being the hulking front line.
Use him when you spot a team that’s “typed” (i.e., heavy on one attack type). Gramel’s mixed attack forces opponents to spread their defensive thinking.
If your mana cap is tight, consider mixing him with low mana support monsters whose roles help him survive. The flexibility of Gramel lets you build around him more playfully.
Conclusion
So there you have it! My pick for the Conclave Arcana favourite is Gramel The Hunger, because he’s flashy, flexible, and fits the new meta just right. But even more than that, he’s the card that clicked for me in a match and made me stop and say “Yep, this set has something special.” Let’s keep the battlefield buzzing, the builds evolving, and the banter friendly. See you in the arena! 🎮

💭🧐💭Ending Thoughts💭🧐💭

I definitely can appreciate Conclave Favorites and how it changes the dynamics of usual gameplay. This is one of those situations which can be turned into a huge advantage if surrounded with the proper strategies. The role it brings to the battlefield will give a player the edge in squeezing out every tiny advantage to get the win. 👍🏻
I hope this article has given you some insight into its potential. 😉
