Know your where or you'll end up someplace else

It's quite a funny meme for me but the main point is as profound as profound gets. So many people go through life without a clear goal or even if they have the end goal in mind, they tend to lose focus easily when distractions come their way.
When this happens to a person, he or she is almost bound to end up in places and situations they never planned to be in. The final or end goal of your life is like a map. It helps you choose the right road and the right road is what leads to the right destination, not how good the car is or how fast it can go.
Without that map, which is the goal of your life, wasting your time and energy is inevitable.
It's in knowing what you want that gives direction to your life. Such a person is not going to be making random choices, they'll make purposeful ones. If you're always unsure or indecisive, you put yourself at the risk of having others decide for you the life to live and it's not going to be a pretty and enjoyable one because their plans for you may not fit your true needs.
Because of the clear end goal and vision you have, you can say yes to the right things and no to the wrong things without any shred of guilt.
One thing life has is many distractions so you need a well defined direction to protect you from getting lost in those many distractions.
A goal will give you something to aim at, remember that.
There's so much confidence you'll get if you have goals because you know why you're are working and where you hope to go, it also fills you with inspiration to keep going when times get tough because it will, at some point.
A person without direction is bound to repeat the same mistakes over and over. For instance, you don't have a financial goal and because of that, you mishandle money, as long as the goal ain't there, you'll keep making a mess of your financial life. All you may end up doing is simply following whatever happens next. That's never a good way to live life.
Also know that your end goal does not need to be perfect at all, it just needs to be an honest one and meaningful to you. You're able to measure your own progress because you know where to end and that makes your growth much easier to see and make all the adjustments necessary.
The people that mostly copy trends on social media or copy others and try to live life like how someone else is living are those that have a problem with the end goal. Not saying that getting inspired by others is wrong, that's a great thing but you have to have your own path.
Also those that worry about everything, worry because they are focused on the distractions around, and don't get me wrong, the distractions are good at doing that work, distracting you. So if you fall prey to that, don't be hard on yourself, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep moving forward in your life to reach that goal.
One of the most important things about having a clear a goal is how that helps you find the right people. It becomes easier to connect with those who share your values and the right people are invaluable blessings in your life that even money can't pay for.
