The Most Important person in your life, You.

You might be the type that spends a lot of time thinking about what other people think. Whether your friends like your new haircut or whether your boss respect your work or whether that person you're interested in feels the same way about you.

It’s totally natural to want people to love you, like you and respect you. You're not the only one, as a matter of fact, we all do. It has a good feeling to it when we get that from the world.

But the big, simple truth is that other people's feelings about you are not your job.
You cannot make someone like you, even the Genie in the Aladdin movie with all the power can't.

You can't force them to respect your choices or your personality and you certainly can't make them love you. Everyone has their own mind, their own experiences and their own opinions. They are allowed to feel whatever they feel, that's how life is supposed to be anyways and sometimes, those feelings they have won't be the ones you want. That's okay, it really is.

Just remember that the only love, like and respect that matters 100% of the time is the kind you give to yourself.

Have this in your mind and heart at all times.

A question for you?

When you wake up, who is the first person you see? When you make a big choice, who has to live with the result? When you're all alone with your thoughts, who is there?

The answer to all those questions is you.

So dear friend, when you look in the mirror, you better love what you see.
And I don't mean loving just the good parts, like the great outfit you've got on or the good traits or personality that people praise, I mean loving all of it. Loving the way you tried hard and even ended up failing. Loving the kindness you showed, even when the favor wasn't returned. Loving the simple fact that you are you.

When you truly love yourself, the way the rest of the world sees you doesn't have to be a big deal to you anymore. Let them think whatever, as long as your morals are in check, your ideals are good, you're doing your best to be good and do right, you're fine.

When you have your own back, you can stand tall no matter what anyone else is saying about you.

So today, this week, this month, for the rest of your life, try to stop worrying about the love you're getting and focus on the love you're giving, especially to the most important person in your life, yourself.
You are enough and you always have been.
