I decided to start my own CAF 2025 tournament with an African matchup, and the first fixture I picked was Nigeria vs Senegal. I wanted to play my usual style from the start, which is possession football. So I wasn’t rushing. Just passing around, switching from left to right, waiting for their midfield to shift. Senegal tried to press me early but they couldn’t get the ball. After a few minutes of just moving it around I finally found a gap, broke their defense, and scored my first goal through Victor Osimhen. That one calmed my nerves.

The match wasn’t easy sha, even though the scoreline looks like it 😂 Senegal were physical and they kept coming at me after they conceded. I had to stay patient and keep recycling possession until they opened up again. Osimhen got a brace in that game, he was everywhere in their box. Other players also got in on it and before I knew it we were running them over. The passes were clicking, the counters were fast, and Senegal couldn’t cope once Nigeria took control.

Full time ended 5:0 to Nigeria. On paper it looks like a thrashing, but trust me it wasn’t free. I had to work for every goal, especially in the first half. Senegal made me play real football, no shortcuts. But once I settled into the possession then counter style, Nigeria just took over. 5:0 to start CAF 2025 and Osimhen leading the line like a proper striker. Good way to begin the tournament.
