“If the World Went to War: My Truth, My Choices”
Seeing this prompt made me realize that I had never thought of this and most people won’t think of this until it’s actually happens. Really I do not pray for a world war because the little gist I heard about the Biafra war is very unsettling. Not withstanding the subject isnt far fetched. It’s actually something that can happen and we may not think of it until we have to.
The truth be told that in the face of war, I repeat again that I pray it doesn’t happen. The thoughts of it alone is unsettling, we would have to make difficult choices.Unsettling for someone like me that wants peace and nothing but peace. I don’t even have the energy to fight with someone or quarrel not to talk of the entire world.
Well, in the face of such, being a hero is not what me or someone else might thing about immediately.I did be drawn to thinking of the safety of my family and myself. I would think of survival first. My first move would be have to ensure that my family is safe and secure.
I would have to think ahead by considering which locations I think is safer and we may have to make quicker decisions whether we would relocate or stay put wherever we are. In the times We are in, I believe that civilians would be safer if they avoided chaos, crowds and places of uncertainty than running towards it.
That’s to say that even though the thought of joining the army or wanting to be a hero is a noble one, we know that that is an action that requires deep and several trainings to be a part of.I believe that to some persons, that is a calling and One would have to understand the risks that are involved before wanting to be a part.
Not everyone will any to be a part of that especially if they have people depending on them.
Clearly I wouldn’t opt for such. So my first approach would be to ensure that my loved ones are safe and to do that, there are some approach I could consider.
The first would be to know and search out exit routes and also look out for safe zones and incase someone gets separated, a communication means to reach-out should be in places.

The next thing would be to ensure that there’s availability of food, water and medications for the members of the family while we are on the go. I heard that during the Biafra war, that most people died from starvation than from the war itself.
I would also ensure we have access to verified and reliable news to know how to navigate our escape routes rather than relying on rumors because false news circulated faster in time of crises than the real news.
We also be keeping a low profile and avoid drawing attention to ourselves as this is also key to survival. Amidst all of these, there would be need for mental toughness. Mental strength and calming down is as important as any physical preparation because fear and panic would only lead to making poor decisions.
War is a serious thing and it’s not the way we see them in movies. It’s about endurance, protecting oneself and having to make difficult choices. May we never see war.

You have some nice strategies I'll say. Honestly, this is a situation no one will want to see happen. The thought alone is unsettling like you said. But these are some good strategies.
