Hivechess Season 1 Round 15 Report - 13th Place!
Greetings to all chess fans! I just played in the 15th round of the Hivechess Season 1 a couple of minutes ago and I'm writing this report just after the tournament ended. The Hivechess tournament is a weekly chess Arena blitz tournament which ran for over an hour. The time control for this round was three minute blitz with an option to go on "berserk". Going berserk will give you half the time (1.30 minutes) but will give you an extra point if you win.
I placed thirteenth in this tournament, suffering a lot of losses. If you can see my company in the rankings, there are a lot with Elo of 2000+. This is how strong this tournament is. The second and third placer are over 2200 rating while the top prize was rated 2600! I'd be lucky to get a draw against these guys, much less play for a win.
I had some easy games though with a couple of games ending in mate in one.
Here's one game that ended with a mate delivered by my Bishop on g2 while my dark squared bishop controlled the g1 square.

In the next game, my opponent blundered in time scramble. I also didn't see the mate and just moved my Bishop to check. I was surprised when the game ended the way it did. It's also unusual that the mate was delivered by my Bishop.

In the position below, I won with a mate in three moves. It's easy to see even in blitz since the Black King is exposed. See if you can find the mate in this position.

Thanks to @sam.chess @samostically for hosting and congratulations to the winners!

Nice checkmate with bishop.
Thank you. The checkmate in the other game was an accident that I didn't expect :)
