List of Useful Sites, Tools, and Apps for Beginners on Hive

This is now the second semester that I am doing trial and error about this new concept introduced by the Web3 platform, like Hive, into education. The concept I am referring to is the idea of earning while you learn. As we all know, education is notorious for high expense. We know it from experience, particularly if you still have children studying in college. My eldest stopped, my youngest graduated last school year, and my second son is in his 3rd year. I want them to complete their studies the soonest so I can focus on my retirement plan.
Last semester's experiment was not so successful. I onboarded five students. I told them to create content, comment on posts, and upvote other Hivean's articles. However, for some reasons known only to them, they complied with the minimal requirements stated in our course syllabus. They just published two reflection papers for the whole semester and made a few comments.
This school year, I am doing something new. I am paying 3 HIVE for the creation of their accounts, and I have been delegating at least 500.00b RC and 3 HIVE power (HP) for them to have to start experimenting on-chain. Moreover, I am also sending them 5,000 CENT each so they can start curating content published on the Cent tribe. And not only that, I am buying them 64 LOLZ and 20 PIZZA so that they can tip content creators while waiting for their accounts to grow their HIVE power (HP).
Once they achieve at least $10 each for both their Hive wallet and Hive Engine wallet, I advise them to earn at least $10 more and test if the platform is for real by cashing out. Once they reach that stage, it is up to them if they want to continue or leave if they see that the platform is not worth their time. And by the way, I also asked them to return the 3 HP I delegated to them and pay the 3 HIVE I used in creating their accounts so I would have enough funds to onboard more students.
And so in writing this post, I am thinking of these students to make their experience here on Hive easier. To do that, a guide like this is necessary.
The first site I have in mind is hive.io. This is the site I used in onboarding them. I just clicked that red tab on the far upper right corner of the page and selected Ecency for signing them up. Among seven options, I find Ecency the easiest. I tried InLeo and DBuzz several times in the past, but it appears that they are not that reliable when onboarding new users, or perhaps it is because they are free. That is why I decided on the paid sign-up.
The second tool is Hive at Ausbit. During my early years here on Hive, I used HiveBlocks and I loved it. However, for a year or two now, this latter block explorer seems to be unstable. Most of the time, it doesn't work. I don't know the reason. That's the time I found Hive at Ausbit as the better alternative. You can check both from time to time if you want to track your chain activity.
The third, of course, is Keychain. This is a very important tool on Hive. Once you add your account together with your posting and active keys, your transaction on-chain will be smooth and a lot easier. You can download it on the Google Play Store.

When it comes to the blogging side of Hive, the two most important platforms for me are PeakD and Ecency. In publishing posts, PeakD is easier. When it comes to trading both HIVE and HBD, I think the latter is the best; it is fee-less and fast.
What's next? I am thinking. Oh! I almost forgot Hive Engine. When it comes to trading layer two tokens like CENT, LOLZ, and PIZZA, Hive Engine is the way to go. Of course, there are two more alternatives: BeeSwap and TribalDex. These three are what we call the Hive's internal decentralized crypto exchange. When it comes to monitoring liquidity pools, I prefer BeeSwap.
Before I conclude this post, I am reminded of microblogging. I think both PeakD and Ecency have their Snaps and Waves, respectively; however, I prefer InLeo's Threads, DBuzz, and somee.blog, depending on which one is active at the time.
I think that's it for now. The above apps and tools are enough for now to assist any new Hivean in navigating the Hive network. They made our chain experience a lot easier. Thanks to all coders and developers on Hive!
