A Farmer's Shadow in the Mud
This bright morning, I took the time to go down to the rice paddy to dig the weeds into the mud. As I stood amidst the puddle of water and mud, I saw my own reflection clearly reflected. The wide-brimmed caping hat, the two sago palm fronds in my hands supporting my body, and my upright posture created a very distinctive silhouette, reflecting the true identity of a farmer.
The warm sunlight shone from behind, highlighting the shadow, making it stand out in stark contrast against the muddy water. I immediately raised my camera and captured it. For me, this wasn't just photography; it was a precious shadow photo, and it was also a story. A story about hard work, about the relationship between humans and the land, and about the spirit that lives on in the farmers of this country.
This shadow is a reflection of dedication. Every line speaks of sweat, struggle, and hope for a good harvest in the future. Although it's just a silhouette, it holds meaning in its silence. I felt this moment was worth sharing in this year's Shadow Hunter contest.
Hopefully this image can represent the voices of farmers who struggle with mud every day, but still walk with enthusiasm.😊
