Matrices Q&A 2: Easy Guide to Matrix Determinant and Invertibility

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

Hello guys, welcome to another beautiful day with Mathematics.
In today's session, we are required to find the determinant of a 2x2 matrix and further verify whether the matrix is invertible.

First, I calculated the determinant of the given matrix, which turned out to be 14. I used the standard method, multiplying the elements on the main diagonal and then subtracting the product of the elements on the other diagonal.

After obtaining the determinant, I proceeded to explain and demonstrate the condition for a matrix to be invertible: a matrix is invertible if and only if its determinant is not equal to zero.
