I noticed Dumpster Diving could be really lucrative when I was in the Army and soldiers were leaving training without all their extra stuff. I got a couple of free pairs of shoes and some practically new clothes. It's been a very positive experience for me and the social stigma provides very little competition, but I aim to change that with this group. I hope more people see the value in the trash and we can reduce waste overall!

I mostly find trash when I go but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I find a lot of treasure in others trash. Give us a proper post when you decide to dive in!

I used to turn aluminum beverage cans into silver bullion coins, no magic needed.
The Cans get recycled and I get the cash deposits.

You are a hero in my book! Aluminum cans only fetch around $.01 each where I am from, but it doesn't stop me from collecting them and cashing them in with my other scrap metal.

My local Recycling Depots pay 10 Cents CAD for each beverage can or bottle returned to the system. It's tax free cash that I spend guilt free on silver bullion and !PIZZA for my kids.

I love this. Just last week, I searched my backyard to get something that could be of use in my trash.

Might post about the stuff, but I don't have all the pictures, as I never knew such a community would emerge.

I love the idea for the community! I used to dumpster Dive at Trader Joe's when I used to work there, and since I was writing off and bagging the good, I knew what was where, which was very helpful for our (there was a woman who also worked there with me, and would join me) after-work adventures! We got so much great food! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
